So other than Unified One-drop battalions do battalions need to be set up anywhere near each other or have any interaction on the table, or is this an organizational thing?

If say, I take the Warlord Core Battalion but some of those units can normally set up off the table and come in later can I make use of that? Or do I have to place all the units that are part of the same battalion in the same place.

I know Unified Battalions have separate set up rules, but the others don't seem to have any.

Battalions do not affect normal set up rules in any way. Only one-drop deployment, which affects the when but not the how.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Battalions are literally "these units have extra rules"

They do not technically affect how you deploy (though sometimes they get a bonus that makes you want them to be together)
They do not affect how many overall of such units you can bring

Say you are bringing 4 Leaders, 4 Battlelines, 3 Artillery, and a Monster.
Then you claim you have a battalion that 2 of the leaders and 2 battlelines are a part of. All that means is theres extra stuff those specific units get or cause to happen.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.
