Last I heard of him, he was chasing “lorgarbage: daemon edition” in the warp and manifested as a raven shadow daemon with tons of blades as weapons.
Now, out of the loyalist primarchs, who should return first? We know that Leman, Lion, and Corax are likely on the way, however, I couldn’t recall hearing any recent lore about Russ from GW and apparently Lion is still sleeping, on the other hand though, Corax, while active, is now obsessed with killing lorgar, and that’s not even touching the fact that he’s basically a daemon ( and doesn’t have the fabulous aura of a living saint).
Or, should it be the others? Like Khan, or even tricky ones like loyal fractions of Magnus or a potentially loyal Omegon?

I've got mixed feelings on this.
On one hand my favorite kind of 40k is the one where 30k is the stuff of legends and over time has become this garbled mess. The supreme leader Primarch of the Ravenguard was Raven Ravenbird. It's silly, goofy and leaves a lot up to interpretation.
On the other hand I think the concept of Primarchs returning is a very interesting idea. I'd just like it better if it was pitched as Warhammer 49k instead of 40k.
To answer your question with Gulliman's return I would expect the Lion to return next and he will be set up as a foil for Gulliman. While I love Corvus Corax I think his return will correspond to when they release a Lorgar Daemon Primarch. Russ will likely be the last since he is searching for that tree of life after all, maybe that ends up being Isha. Maybe he stays in the warp forever. Who knows!
That's the fun part of 40k, anything can happen and in your games you can create your own narrative.

Yeah, Lion being a stubborn autistic a-hole is nothing new XD. However, if the tree of life is really Isha, then it’d be exactly what big E needs (what? I obviously meant that she could heal big E with her powers and serve to operate the damn throne, there’s absolutely nothing about the alfabusa reference for big E’s sexual preference :p), that’s assuming Isha is willing to cooperate with a hostile species.

I honestly want 9th edition to double down on traitor primarchs first. Really make the setting feel desperate for the Imperium both in the setting and tabletop. Then in 10th edition we can start bringing some loyalist primarchs back, where the situation looks a bit more hopeful but also means we're now experiencing the Imperiums actual darkest hour. As practically all the loyalist primarchs keep saying they're return when the "end is nigh".

Honestly I could do without any more Primarchs. There's plenty of stuff GW could make instead.

which TBH is why I'm hoping they go with something differant.
Russ could be an intreasting foil to Gulliman without just retreading the HH novels.

I'd be perfectly ok if no more primarchs ever came back.

I'd like something interesting. Loyalist Omegon or Fulgrim, LotD Ferrus, maybe Khan or Corax depending on how it's done. Anything other than the trio with most insufferable, annoying fandumb group of players screeching they are the best and everyone else is doing SM wrong. Please?

I'd be happy with some more Primarchs, as it's fairly certain that they'll be stunning models. Would prefer to see Chaos over Imperial, most likely Angron and Fulgrim.

None should return, they belong to the mystical past of the Heresy, shrouded in myths and legends.
