Lots of great entries this month! It really made it hard to narrow it down to 5 votes. The ones I picked:
queen_annes_revenge: I'm a huge LotR fan, so seeing you paint Gimli this well really made me smile. The other dwarf looks excellent too!
Mr Nobody: I don't care what anyone says, the Stormsurge is an awesome model. I had one and painted it before I sold my Tau army, and so I'll always have respect for anyone who can do one to a good standard, which you definitely did.
Ezki: Honestly these are some of the most crisply painted Incubi I've seen. They could almost be on the GW box art for the kit.
Yorkright: These turned out fantastic! The armor is really smooth and crisp, and the weathering on the melta weapon barrels is a great touch and done well. Also, @Paradigm, these are Eradicators, not Heavy Intercessors.
Jamie Shred: Some of the best sword blades I've seen, and really smooth paintjob on the armor and shields too.

Everyone here should be proud of their entries. Really great stuff here. I'm certainly happy with my own entry, even if it is fairly basic. At least I can take decent photos now thanks to my lightbox. Shout out as always to Paradigm for taking time to run these things, even in the middle of moving (a chaotic time for anyone!). See you all in the next challenge!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Some voting is happening, but where is the conversation at? Usually everyone is giving feedback and/or just talking about their entries, but this time around it's way too quiet.

It was quiet, too quiet. The heat lay over the Dakka forums like a 30 tog duvet...

Maharg - I get a real 60/70s psychedelic rock vibe off your Fire Wizard (Crazy World of Arthur Brown?)

Turaxa - great urban camo, I have to say: The eyes have it

Horla - cracking detail, but messing with my OCD: the names are behind the characters and look off centre!

Jamie Shred & Queen Annes Revenge - just beautiful, when I grow up I want to be able to paint to that level of detail

MobileSuitRandom - My personal favourite & vote

Everybody else - you all give me inspiration and something to aim for as I try to improve in our hobby.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked the eyes. I've painted that camo scheme before, but painting the eyes was me trying to stretch my skills this round.

I'm hardly the most qualified person to comment on others' work, but I shall try.

  • FrozenDwarf : The weathering brings out the detail on these nicely.
  • queen_annes_revenge : Both of these are up to your usual high standard. The OSL on the smith lends a nice atmosphere.
  • Aash : Nice to see a metallic scheme on Ultramarines.
  • DV8 : This piece is amazing. Is the blood done with resin of some kind?
  • Pariah Press : Old school cool, and nice freehand on the scroll.
  • Mr Nobody : Surprisingly moody for a giant orange mecha, and much better than the official colour scheme.
  • Lifeafter : This is a excellent dirty white scheme.
  • the_balloon_dog : Awesome. Have you tried it with a yellow LED under the explosion effect?
  • Endtransmission : A simple yet effective colourscheme.
  • KidCthulhu : Solid generic mooks. I don't think the plasma coil glow quite works, but I don't know how you'd improve it, sorry.
  • Graphite : An interesting conversion. He looks very 80s (90s?) Necromunda.
  • Flinty : These are cool, I like the ice-white trainers on the guy with the pistol. Using the same blue for hair and clothing makes the hair look artificial though.
  • Captain Brown : A classic scheme well executed.
  • Ezki : Sharp edge highlights and solid bases. Nice.
  • Commissar Yarrork : This is solid paintwork and the LEDs elevate the model as a whole.
  • Ms07b3 : Smoothly painted chibis.
  • Nevelon : Nice. The snow spatter on the legs adds to their sense of movement.
  • FundoMental : I think the captain's face and the skull he's holding would benefit from additional highlights, but these are solid tabletop standard.
  • JoshInJapan : Colourful without being garish. The variety in the way the heads are painted helps to sell these as different kinds of alien.
  • Freya : The NMN, the loincloth and base are all very good, but I feel the fur/skin/cloak all being a similar white makes them look a little unfinished. Have you considered doing a warm white for some parts and a cool white for others?
  • Yorkright : Nicely painted. I like the face on the sergeant.
  • Aelyn : This is an interesting scheme, and could look very striking at army size.
  • Pneumo : A nice yellow (never an easy colour) and very neat freehand on the fist icon.
  • Arakasi : A solid ork boy. That's a nice shade of red on the gun.
  • Jamie Shred : Your NMM technique is coming along nicely.
  • Paradigm : I won't nit-pick the base rim on this since I know you were moving house. Is this painted with contrast paints? It's quite Blanche-y.
  • MobileSuitRandom : Very good. Nice naturalistic colours and a very rusty rusted effect on the axe blades.
  • Vejut : It's difficult to judge with such a small picture, but it seems like a solid paint job.
  • Dr Giggles : These are neatly painted for what I imagine are fairly tiny figures.
  • Maharg : Painting the eyes on this would enhance the model. Every other part of it is well-painted.
  • Viterbi : This colour scheme works well with the VSF feel these models have.
  • Tim 121RVC : For some reason this reminds me of a Henson animatronic. This simple paint scheme suits the natural materials and I like the glowing eyes.
  • Turaxa : I painted the eyes and they weren't all terrible! The bases turned out a bit chunky though and some of the camo stripes could be thinner.
  • Horla : A good basic paint job. Is that Newt in the second picture?
  • ShadowsAndDust : I like the multi-coloured flames, I might have to pinch that idea. Did you freehand the picture in the book or is it a transfer?
  • E3DD : A pretty colour scheme with good edge highlights. The faces of the bare-headed ones lack definition, though that might be the sculpts?
  • Midget Gems Jr : These meet the “three-colours-minimum and based” standard. It's a good start.
  • Midget Gems : Nice kitbashes, these really demonstrate the versatility of the older kits. The bases give a colourful contrast to the models.
  • ZergSmasher : A nice yellow that pops against the darker robes and bases.
  • DJJazzyJeff : It's a well-painted model, but what I really like is all the little twigs and leaves on the base.

Not Contrast, it was actually a first and largely pointless stab at using oil paints. Not sure I achieved anything I couldn't have with acrylics to be honest, as much as I do quite like the final overall look. Blanch-y is always a compliment in my book!

On the base rim, not sure whether you mean the specks of paint or the fact the photo background remover has taken a chunk of it away on one of the pics, but either way, ta for bringing it to my attention, the former issue at least I can fix!

With so many models it can be hard to come up with comments.

Commissar Yarrork: Those LED's are looking great with a solid paintjob. If you ever use LED's again, I think a black background would help your model stand out more.

I'm glad everyone seemed to like the LEDs, I'm not a very good painter so I figured it'd be an easy way to improve the model a bit. It's honestly pretty easy to do LEDs in a deff dread, they're huge inside, just leave the top unglued. My killa kans with LEDs, on the other hand.... big oof, or should I say small oof.

@ Mr Nobody, I'll keep that in mind in future. I have a very crappy photo setup that I did last minute, that's literally just some printer paper and some desk lamps, and the photo was with a phone. I might have some dark cloth I can use next time.

EDIT: For anyone that does want to try doing LEDs, check out evandesigns.com, these ones were done with the "small coin cell holder with separate switch" and their "LED chip lighting kit". You could probably get the next size up for coin cells if you're working with deff dreads or similarly large models, but I did the small ones so I could fit them in my kans too.

Thank you for the comments and praise Turaxa and ZergSmasher! I'm flattered.

I second the notion that it has been way too hot lately. Already sitting on a computer for a living, so the more I can keep the thing from producing heat in the apartment, the better
Been a bit quiet on the painting side as well. The Incubi has been pretty much the only models I've done since early June.

Keeping this short this time around: Stellar job everyone! I'm impressed every time.
