I’m having a hard time keeping up with some of these special figures. Are these the 40K figure from the upcoming US tournaments and last years AoS store birthday figure?

The Sigmarine was meant to be at Adepticon 2020 I think...?

Bit weird the Necron is this year's but the Aspiring Champion isn't present.

Hopefully they do this for other exclusive models. Would love to get the new Cryptek as well.

Same. This is the first MTO model I've been interested in, but the actual plastic cryptek that isn't guy with cloak or one of the other disciplines would be nice for general release.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Agreed. I want that Cryptek as well. I might get this guy, but I'm not sold on it yet. They always pump out the overlords, even though you don't actually need that many in the game, and everyone probably has a bunch of them from various boxes along the way.

Didn't they already release the Cryptek as this years store anniversary model? Unless there's another I don't know about.

Yeah, Cryptek's out and about. Since he's more common, I doubt he'll get made-to-order

'These brilliantly BLAND event heroes...".
The only good event models were FW exclusives. Heck, I'd even take the ugly UM Herald over these any day.

In the U.K., yes. Every U.K. store had its anniversary on the same day, with unlimited numbers of the models available between physical stock and made to order.

They really, really don’t care unless it’s someone they’ve supplied at wholesale.

If they did, I wouldn’t be able to arrange mass looting of exclusives. After all, whilst I’m genuine, they’ve only my word I’m not buying 100 Store Opening Chaplains to bung on eBay at a healthy mark up.

The sprues they come on are rounded, like space marine heroes. Is that how the ork, Bugmansson, and other limited models were? I know the space marine terminators were, but I suspect they may have been repurposed space marine hero models

Lieutenant Amulius was on rounded sprue too. Ork and both Catachan models were on normal sprues. I can't confirm the others because I haven't opened them and I am not bothered to image search their sprues.

That Necron Lord is awful. I thought that 360 degree pic could improve it but now I hate it from all directions instead. Stormcast is cool though and luckily free postage treshold has been lowered so that I don't need to buy multiple.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

The Lord is fairly bad, yeah. The local GW’s anniversary is next month, and I’m tempted to get the Cryptek, but Ive already converted an on foot Technomancer.

I ordered the Age of Sigmar model. Although Necrons are my main 40k force, I really don't like that 'tennis serve' model.

Anyway, with regards to Dacian Anvil, the webstore states:

"Knight-Questor Dacian Anvil is equipped with a Questor Warblade and Celestial Hammer. You can use him as Dacian Anvil of the Hammers of Sigmar, or a Knight-Questor within your Stormhost of choice. You can download the warscroll for Knight-Questor Dacian Anvil from the Download tab."

Except there's no Download tab.

Anyone know if there's a Warscroll anywhere for this guy? I'm not looking to sponge it if it's in a paid for book, but knowing where to find it would be useful.
It would seem wierd using him as a standard Knight-Questor with a special skill for his shield - which he doesn't have.

My Painting Blog: http://gimgamgoo.com/
Currently most played: Silent Death, Xenos Rampant, Mars Code Aurora and Battletech.
I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - disliked both, but I'm enjoying HH2 and trying Battletech Classic and AS out

Apparently as an event model he's just intended to be used as a generic Knight Questor, he originally came in a blister without rules whereas Sylas Beastbane and Larrisa Shadowstalker are boxed with their own rules.

That's it? SMH....

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I'm still buying (well, did buy) the Necron, but it's definitely not their best work. I have almost every lord, though, so it really is a collector thing.

Despite that, I wouldn't have bought it at all if not for the sprue picture, which showed the head is pretty easy to re-pose. First thing I'm doing when I open it is fixing his cervical dystonia, which is not a problem a $35 mini should have.

Yes, I know I am part of the problem by rewarding them for mediocre sculpts, but I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul.

The Stormcast is a good looking model but the one I wish they would re-release would be the Catachan Colonel. I know they won't but I still want one.

I find it amusing they are so upfront about the FOMO angle that they explicitly say: "Order yours today to avoid missing out!" not only once, but twice in three sentences. Not exactly winning any points for subtlety.

I’m not sure reiterating that it is limited time made-to-order is a so much matter of FOMO as much as them saying don’t say we didn’t warn you this is a limited time offer.

If telling people twice in three sentences that they should "Order yours today to avoid missing out!" isn't fear of missing out marketing, I really don't know what is. They're not even hiding it by trying to use different words, it's right there: you'll miss out if you don't buy this now!

Except you won't since the Necron model is going to be available at events for the next year.

If true, that makes the FOMO "buy now or you'll miss out!" marketing even more shameless.

While true, this is seemingly going to be the only time anyone not attending the events can obtain it.

Personally? I'm liking this setup. It still irks me that I was unable to get Larissa Shadowstalker because of C19.

Yes, you too could be missing out on a limited edition, only sold for one year, slight variation on a regular model.

Like, oh my god, what if you'd never in a million years be able to produce the equivalent model via conversions or basic modeling techniques.

Of all of the things that a person might be risking missing out on, this shouldn't be one of the ones they worry about.

I just assume that i'll be paying 60-80 for anything limited on ebay. I can't really think of any special models that weren't readily available second hand long after they went oop.

This is kind of an anti-argument, a statement so broad and meaningless as to take on a whole new definition of "non sequitur". There are other things worth worrying about. Well no gak. But this is a discussion about Limited Edition miniatures. Therefore in the context of the discussion they are important.
