Apparently I never had a P&M Blog for my Sylvaneth. Here’s some assorted pictures of old stuff before I kick this off with new ongoing additions.

So far I’m just not a fan of the direction Kruleboyz are headed, and it’s inspired me to get my Sylvaneth back out after so long. To kick it off I want to try and start getting my Wyldwoods done. Never had fully painted Wyldwoods. Super tedious to paint, and every stage takes longer than you’d think it would. If I was starting the army brand new I’d do this in contrast, but this army was started before that came out so it’s almost entirely Shades, so I’m sticking with that to everything remains consistent. Hoping to have more than just one set painted before this Sunday, but I guess we’ll see.

Ooh, pretty. The multi-season tree is really clever!

Agreed. I like that concept too. Makes it more magical and otherworldly. Good work, AduroT!

Hadn’t included it initially since it’s not currently playable, but here’s some pictures of my themed Balewind Vortex, and the three spells unpainted. Really gonna miss using that Vortex…

Finished painting up the first set of Sylvaneth Wyldwoods. Need to put some grass/undergrowth tufts onto the bases, and then clip, clean, touch up, and attach all the branches. It took two days to get them to this stage, so I think my plan is to spend the next two days working on the second set of Wyldwoods, and then spend the fifth day doing all that assembly on both sets. If I’ve horribly underestimated how long that final assembly stage will take, I’ll still have Saturday evening yet to complete everything before Sunday GW Gaming Day.

Solid first day progress on the second set of Wyldwoods. Trying to get more done today so I can let the texture paint dry longer tomorrow before I try to dry brush it, as that was proving an issue on the first set. Otherwise this set is a slightly different color than the first. The benefit of doing two coats of shade instead of the one coat of contrast is I can use different colors of shade to give a varying tone to the wood. First set was two coats of Agrath Earth, and this is a coat of Agrath Earth followed by a coat of Reikland Fleshshade. Third set will be two coats of Fleshshade. Also I never showed the underside of the branches on the first set, so here’s that horribly tedious part to paint.

Finished* up the first three Sylvaneth Awakened Wyldwoods. *Need to get a better shade of green and brown to touch up the spots where I cut the branches off the sprue. The ones I got are all too light/bright. Pretty darn good as is though. Will get the other three assembled tonight. Plan to take a break from wyldwoods next week and reward myself for powering thru this tediousness by painting my Arch and Warsong Revenants.

Really great work! I've always liked the idea of painting natural based armies but I know how frustrating it can be when painting larger projects because of the amoutn of time required!

Great work on the first set looking forward to seeing all of them completed together!

Got the second set of Sylvaneth Awakened Wyldwoods put together and finished up. Also did a quick inventory and sorting of models in my collection and put together a fully painted 1000pt force for my game later today.

While the progress has been slow, I Have been working on this batch of Sylvaneth. Got their bark and wood colors done, and the foliage cleaned back up and ready for coats of green shade next.

The brighter greens next to the slightly-reddish-orange bark is wonderful. I'm really enjoying what you're doing here.

Greens are done, and got the metals basecoated and a couple coats of blue shade down. Still wants another coat of the blue and some cleaning up there. Then start painting up all the skulls. That GUO skull on the Warsong is going to be a pain in the butt with all the roots over it.

Nearly finished. Just some basing and then go thru and touch up a few spots. Oh, and the Arch Revenant’s buddy. I haven’t forgotten that, just saving it for last.

Finally finished with all the stuff I’ve been working on this week and sat down and took pictures of it.

The skull on the Warsong’s base wasn’t quite as bad as I thought it would be to paint around the vines. Also decided it was a dragon and not a Great Unclean One like I first thought.

Finally got the Arch painted up after getting her so long ago. The fancy wings came out really well I think. Hopefully that resin isn’t too brittle and they hold up well.

Fairly last minute I redid the arms on my Branchwraith to use spare Spite arms as this gives her a bit more unique look to the other Dryads. Also built and painted up the Spiteswarm Hive quick to use as a cheat proxy for an Emerald Lifeswarm today because the custom model I’ve got planned for that will take a bit more effort to assemble plus a scratch made base for its weird unique size.

Sword Kurnoth I built back when I got the Arch also got painted up. Ended up not including them in my list this weekend however when the plans changed from a 2k 1v1 to a 1k per person 2v2 game.

Lastly I’ve been putting in extra work on my woods. Third set of Wyldwoods is done, and I got a tub and lined with it with non-slip padding to transport them. Plenty of room left for the forth set, and probably push them closer and have room for a few of the larger Endless Spells. I’m dubbing this tub the Green House.

This weeks agenda, Sylvaneth Tree Revenants! Previously I had a single ten man unique, which the current meta is just running them in fives, so I build the new ones as all command models to give me three five man uniques. Two of these will have banners, but I neglected to return my dremel to the toolbox so I couldn’t carve the original banners off the poles to replace them with my custom ones.

Going to finish painting my old Underworld’s warband, mostly for completionist’s sake since they’re not very good in AoS, but also because I’m going to use that horned dude as one of my Tree Revenant Unit Champions.

Lastly pressed molded some branches onto bases. Just a few of these will get use for these Revenants, and the rest will go to later Spite Revenants.

Love the paint scheme, is it possible to know what paints you've used?
The green, especially on the warsong revenant, looks great.

I have a 2000pts army to paint for an upcoming event so that will be useful.
