What are some good unit & weapon combos to build a super shooty army?

Which chapters / tactics / stratagems work best for this? Ty!

I’d recommend gluing guns to all your models.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

Guns. Lots of guns. Big guns, little guns....

Seriously tho... land raider crusader, predators with sponsons, large tactical squads (more bodies more guns), and decide what proportion of guns you want for horde or tank killing.

I'm sure others will be able to provide more nuanced advice.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Not a Marine expert, but I regularly face off against something you describe.

Ultramarines. Guilliman and Primaris units. Lots of reroll to hit, reroll 1's to wound, double shoot stratagem for Intercessors. Add in ability to give a unit +1 to hit and +1 to wound.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Devastator squads. I like Grav Cannons or Plasma Cannons. A Devastator Squad with Grav Cannons will fire 20 AP -3 shots the first time it opens up when it uses it's associated Cherub. Eight of those shots will be at BS2+ from the Serge's signum.

Multimeltas are also great. Stick them on Tacticals, Attack Bikes, Sternguard, whatever.

And They Shall Not Fit Through Doors!!!

Ultramarines with a mix of invictors, redemptors, Phobos units, suppressors, contemptors, eradicators and perhaps a landspeeder for secondaries. Either pure Ultra with great special characters or a successor with traits that suits your list the best.

I played a UM successor with JP/TH chaptermaster, JP Librarian and a techmarine. 3 invictors, 3 Redemptors, incursors, a whirlwind and 2 landspeeder storms in a smaller event recently and it worked quite fine. Lots of people who said it was the list they wanted to avoid the most due to all the dakka and the threat of my list going first and overwhelming them due to superior deployment.

It is even a threat to the top and mech lists since you can really deploy as going first and if you do you can hit them hard before they get to stack up their buffs and if going second you can atleast redeploy and hide your stuff with perfect information. Not a good matchup perhaps but you at least have a chance.
