Hey, everyone, I have dyslexia and I don't use forums due to it so if am a bit off am sorry.
I started painting at the start of lockdown but I had started modeling a little bit before that with gunpla i thought that painting small models would help me panel line easier now iv not stoped painting minis.
I paint my minis to a good standard and to make space and a bit of money to buy the next lot I sell them on eBay also so the models get a chance to be played with.
I have never had a problem until today where I believe someone tried to scam me in a strange way.
basically, they asked for the model at a lower than the cost of the model the way I see it as I would rather keep it than sell it for a loss I was asking for 40 pounds and the model from Wayland cost 21 pounds after many messages which should have been a red flag I settled on 35 I sent out the model and the moment he got it he messaged me saying that I didn't use an airbrush (i did) and I dry brushed it instead and that it wasn't painted in places witch, he attached pictures of these areas the first was the back of the doom stalkers legs they were painted it was just darker I wanted them to shadowed the second was the join that connects the top of the stalker to the legs I didn't glue this so that the person could choose which way the model would face iv done this a few times with no problems before.most people would realize that the peg that isn't painted just goes into the body but ofc he knew that he then went on to say that basically, I have to give him a partial refund or il have to pay to ship it back and repaint the painted areas. so from what I gather since looking into the account, he resells minis wants to get it for as close to 20 pounds as possible so he pays me more upfront say the paints jobs pish, and pressures me with the implication of a bad review to give him the model at cost. I told him to send me it back instead and I connect to eBay after. he's put in a refund request because it's not painted which it is. he also said in the message he wasn't meaning to attack but if the model cost 21 pounds my paint job was just not good enuff( i made less than 8 pounds after fees, not including paint or time) but aside from ruining my day it's over
I wrote this because I want to warn people about this reseller but I don't know how to, or even if I should but I feel bad that he's gonna do this to the next person.any advice would be much appreciated. sorry for any strange spelling and thanks for reading.

In your Ad description did you state that you had left the model in sub assembly for the potential buyer so they could assemble however they wish?

No, i did not I thought it would be ok since they just push together. I would have understood also if this was his complaint but he complained that I didn't paint the inside of the model

If you are in doubt then message ebay and see where you stand.

TBH there are loads of professionally miniatures that are barely base coated and sellers want top dollar for them.

Tell him if he's not happy with his purchase then he can sent it back and you'll refund him.

I guarantee he wont do it

Heyo,

When selling Warhammer on ebay there is couple important thing I'd consider and maybe state in your descriptions:

1.
Item sold as seen. (Include lots of photos)

2. Condition is 'used'

I always make sure to accurately describe the item in the title. But in the item description I only EVER state:

"this listing is for <insert model name>
Item sold as seen.

Will be poseted 1st/2nd class within 2 working days from recieving payments."

Thats it.

For example:

This listing is for a WH 40k Space marine phobos librarian

Sold as seen.

And that's all I put on the listing.

You could state "no refunds accepted". However, I don't believe this is not strictly enforceable under UK law, but I guess it sends a message that you are unwilling to faff around with returns.

Form what you describe, the situation seems to suggest the guy is trying to swindle you as he is doing this as a side/main hustle.

I don't think you should put him on blast, maybe he genuinely thought what he was getting was different to what you sent him.. Without looking at all the receipts and images I'm going to reserve judgement.
You are more then welcome to ask for whatever price you want for your models. I see some crazy prices for things... Doesn't mean they will sell, but if you think a model is worth £40 that's your price. Some people value a table top standard paint job highly.

Its up to you what you want to do of course.
If you feel he is acting unfairly I would appeal to ebay and go through their dispute resolution process.
Im not sure how removing negative reviews goes though or how impactful it will be. (I never recieved one so far)
