You take half the damage from each attack with this relic.

Do you round up or down? I couldn't find anything in the core rules specific to that. The two times rounding is mentioned (on dice and terrain), the rules round up.

All rounding is up in 40k.

Not true. Characteristics are rounded up.

MODIFYING CHARACTERISTICS
Many rules modify the characteristics of models and weapons. All modifiers to a characteristic are cumulative; you must apply division modifiers before applying multiplication modifiers, and before applying addition and then subtraction modifiers. Round any fractions up after applying all modifiers. If a rule instructs you to replace one characteristic with a specified value, change the relevant characteristic to the new value before applying any modifiers that apply from other rules (if any) to the new value. Regardless of the source, the Strength, Toughness, Attacks and Leadership characteristics of a model can never be modified below 1.

When a charge distance is halved there is no rounding, unless a special rule says otherwise.

Ah, the word "any" was the downfall of my search. I was looking for round up/down and rounding up/down specifically.

Thanks!

Doesn't the rule specify whether fractions are rounded up or down? Other examples of similar rules seem to say as much in the rule itself, such as:
Armour of Heraclus: Marneus Calgar has a 4+ invulnerable save. In addition, all damage suffered by Marneus Calgar is halved (rounding up).

If you're not told otherwise, you only have one choice - maths.

In this case, it does not say how to round.

If the special rule doesnt specify if and how to round you go back to the core rules, which says that characteristics are rounded up. Damage from a weapon is a characteristic of the weapon.

Well, that's disappointing. Some consistency in rule phrasing would be nice.

As others have said, the general rule is to round up when modifying characteristics.

The reminder in parens is just that - a reminder. It can be removed and nothing changes.

Which will always be rounding up in this case as there are no weapons which deal non-integer values of damage and any integer divided by 2 will either be another integer or an integer plus 0.5.
