Greetings,

So I have a rather large collection of Nighthaunts that pretty much don't get played. I love the models, but honestly I just never really got very good results out of them on the battlefield. I was wondering if anyone had any idea if there would be any possibility of a new codex/new models coming out anytime soon. Just a little SOMETHING to inject some (heh) life into this older faction...

Thanks in advance!

AoS 3.0 has only just landed. Technically the Daughters of Khaine and Slaanesh Battletomes are sort of 2-3 hybrids whilst the first full 3.0 tomes will be the Stormcast and Orruks.

After that every single other faction will need a new tome. The Generals Handbook has already updated points and there are some core changes to how the game works in the rulebook itself (rules are included in the generals handbook).

So yep there will almost certainly be a new Nighthaunt book, when is impossible to say. How many if any new models is also impossible, though NH Did well out of 2nd edition in general so it might be that for now they'll step back in releases and other factions will step forward.

Given that it was the villanous poster boys for the last edition, and used to bring in all those new players, I reckon Nighthaunts will be one of the first battletomes released. Maybe around Christmas time...

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Do you mean other than the Krulghast Cruciator that dropped in April alongside Broken Realms: Be'lakor?

Also: good to hear about the new battletome :-)

Thanks everyone!

I'd say they're unlikely to get much in the way of new models in the next few years, their range is already larger than a lot of armies and none of them are all that old. They got so much in 2e.

But yeah, new book hopefully won't be too far off.

New Hexwraiths seems likely. Especially if redone Wights for the Vampires are in the pipeline.

Do we know that for sure - the kit isn't that old

I don’t see that happening any time soon to be honest. It's not the best kit, but it's much better than a lot of stuff out there still.

From what I can find, the kit dates back to early 2012 and was released alongside the Coven Throne/Mortis Engine, Vargheists/Crypt Horrors and the Wight King on foot.

Which by GW standards is a pretty modern kit!

Yet they're some of the oldest kits in the Nighthaunt line...

But it's kit people already have bought. More profitable to have new unit nobody has got yet

Yeah it just doesn't stick out as something they're likely to replace any time soon.

Battletome?, yes, but moust likely next year. New edition means all battletomes will be adjusted to the new edition in 2-3 years time from now.
Redesigning existing plastic models? no, not going to happend. The entire range, including pre battletome models are well up to todays design standards, and will stay that way prolly for another 10 years.

The current Maggotkin of Nurgle battletome is about three months older than the Idoneth battletome.
