My friend and I are about to play our first AoS game, I'll be playing Deepkin and him Blades of Khorne Is just a small 750 point game just to get in touch / learn some of the rules so we aren't too concerned with who wins this round but I just wanted to make sure my list was legal since a few questions game up.

1.) If bringing both Volturnos and a Tidecaster, does Volturnos have to be your General if brought? I couldn't find anything that said he did but since he is a named character/ leader in the lore and all wanted to make sure.

2.) When making my list I noticed on 1d4chan that with the Broken Realms addition, AoS now has something called Mount Traits and it says that Volturnos' mount, Uasall, can take one of them and that one Deepmare may take a Mount Trait per battalion. I just wanted to know If I could still give Uasall the trait EVEN THOUGH Voluturnos might not be my General. If the above question turns out that bringing Volturnos HAS to be your General, then this question is moot haha but yeah, i'd like to bring both and have the Tidecaster be the general if possible. Just wanted to see if I could also give the Mount Trait without Volturnos being General.

No and yes, respectively. There is an advantage for him to NOT be the general since as a named character he will not get a command trait. However if he is not the general you cannot use his command ability.

Mount traits are unconnected to general status.
