Magnus of Prospero (Lord of War, Power Rating 18)
1 Magnus of Prospero: M 8"; WS 2+; BS 2+; S 7; T 6; W 9; A 6; Ld 10; Sv 2+
Magnus of Prospero is equipped with: Blade of Ahn-Nunurta. You can only include one MAGNUS THE RED model in your army.

Wargear
  • Blade of Ahn-Nunurta: Range Melee; Type Melee; Strength +2; AP -4; Damage 3; Abilities: Each time the bearer is selected to fight, if it successfully manifested Smite this turn, the closest enemy unit within Engagement Range suffers D3 mortal wounds.

  • Abilities
  • Cabbalistic Rituals: See Codex: Thousand Sons.
  • The Crimson King: If your army is Battle-forged, this model must be your army’s WARLORD. If more than one model in your army has a rule to this effect, then one of those models must be your army’s WARLORD. This model is treated as Magnus the Red for all rules purposes.
  • Primarch of the Thousand Sons: In your Command phase, select one friendly THOUSAND SONS CORE or THOUSAND SONS CHARACTER unit within 6" of this model. Until the start of your next Command phase, each time a model in that unit makes an attack, you can re-roll the hit roll.
  • Lord of the Planet of Sorcerers (Aura): While a friendly THOUSAND SONS CORE unit is within 6" of this model, each time a model in that unit makes an attack, re-roll a hit roll of 1.
  • The Horned Raiment: This model has a 4+ invulnerable save. In addition, this model ignores mortal wounds suffered as a result of Perils of the Warp.
  • Arch-Sorcerer: You can re-roll Psychic tests taken for this model. Add 1 to Psychic tests and Deny the Witch tests taken for this model.
  • Mental Wrath: Each time this model manifests the Smite psychic power, after inflicting mortal wounds, select an enemy unit that is within 18” of and visible to this model and within 3” of the initial target. That unit suffers D3 mortal wounds.
  • Phantasmal Aura: Once per turn, when this model attempts to manifest a Blessing or Malediction psychic power that targets a single unit within at least 12”, it can infuse that psychic power into its aura. If the psychic power is successfully manifested, do not resolve its effects; instead, until the start of your next Psychic phase, this model has the following ability: ‘Phantasmal Aura (Aura): While a unit is within 6” of this model, if it would be an eligible target for the infused psychic power, it is affected by that psychic power.’

  • Psyker
Magnus of Prospero can attempt to manifest three psychic powers in your Psychic phase, and attempt to deny three psychic powers in your opponent’s Psychic phase. He knows Smite and three psychic powers from the Discipline of Change or the Discipline of Vengeance.

    Warlord Trait
  • Arrogance of Aeons; Lord of Forbidden Lore; Undying Form: See Codex: Thousand Sons.

  • Keywords
  • Faction: CHAOS, TZEENTCH, HERETIC ASTARTES, ARCANA ASTARTES, THOUSAND SONS

Or if the Emperor ends up with a Text-to-Speech Device...

This is Magnus in his "mortal" form, presumably cosplaying. He's got half the Wounds, half the Movement, half the Strength on his blade (which can't trigger its mortal wounds in the enemy battle round, but can do so against weaker enemies), two fewer Attacks, and he can't FLY. He does, at least, fall under the Look Out Sir threshold.

In terms of abilities, he loses his +2 bonus to Psychic tests, going down to +1 (since he's always at fewer than 10 wounds).

In terms of benefits, he replaces Gaze of Magnus with HH's Mental Wrath, which is almost the same, but more flexible. He also gains Phantasmal Aura; in HH, this is a straightforward -1 to hit aura. Here, it allows him to transform certain buffs (+1 to hit, -1 to be hit, 4+ invulnerable, +1S on flame weapons, +6" range) and certain debuffs (-1 to hit, -1S on ranged weapons, can't shoot at units beyond 24", no invulnerable, MW on a 6 each time a model moves) into a 6" aura instead of targeting them.

In exchange, he costs ~100 points less, coming in just under Guilliman.
