Hi all so I recently bought my first Primaris Storm Speeder and I wanted to magnetise it to the flight stand for better storage. I found an American company called Magnet Baron but I was not willing to pay the shipping fees for the uk.

So I decided to do it myself. I originally tried to glue a magnet to the speeder and a magnetic ball to the stand but that was an epic fail lol. However on eBay I found some 6mm magnetic rings, 2 for £2.85 and thought I’d give them a try. My biggest problem was attaching the ball to the neck of the flight stand as the neck is very narrow. As I was contemplating what else I could I found a box of drawing pins in the corner of my eye.

So I cut off the plastic ball and drilled a small hole in the center of the flight stand and placed a drawing pin into it with glue. I then glued a magnetic ring to the underside of the model and low and behold, a cheap alternative to magnetise the speeder to the stand.

Now the model can be placed on in different positions and it is a very sturdy connection. I hope you guys find this helpful

Green stuff World in Spain also sells rotational flight stand kits. Might

https://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/rotation-magnets-n52/663-rotation-magnets-size-xl.html?search_query=Magnet&results=48

And they are carried by Wayland in the UK at a discount

Not sure if that helps any, but they have the installation instructions for use with X wing minis included in the page. Their system has the ball on the model and the ring magnet on the flight stand as you can insert it through the middle of the ring for more stability.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Pretty good idea. I've always just used a nail in the past replacing the entire stem. Nails are cheap, aren't going to just snap and don't look that out of place when sprayed black.
