So I got the beast snaggas box set for the codex and have sold off my beast snagga boyz because I'm not that into the aesthetic of them (and I have plenty of oldskool boyz to fill the troops slots). I do like the nob on smasha squig, and could tolerate the squighog boyz in my army. My question is, are these units a good fast attack choice without any other beast snagga or snakebite synergy required? I don't really have a lot of time to devote to unit analysis so I'm hoping that those of you who are passionate about this kind of thing can break it down for me. I only play beer and pretzels games, so no need for uber-competitive number crunching, but at the same time, I don't want to take units that are just going to get wiped off the board if they aren't accompanied by a hunta rig or some other nonsense. Thanks Dakka!

Squighogs are good, as Goffs they hit disproportionately hard for how much they cost, and are reasonably durable.

I really like smasha squigs, I'm running two as Goffs alongside a Squigboss and they earn their points back for me often.

Beast snaggas don't really have a lot of synergy to begin with outside of the wurrboy, so you won't be losing a lot. Obviously the squigs will be better as goff or snakebites, but they are decent enough to run in pretty much any army that has other multi-wound models.

For questions like these, make sure to post them in this thread, most of dakka's ork players hang around there and you'll get many more answers much more quickly

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
