I know you can draw line of sight to any part of the model, but does the BASE count as 'part of the model'?

I'm genuinely unsure if it counts or not, and have had a few situations where a unit can only see the base of a big model (e.g. a vehicle) but not any of the rest of it as it's behind obscuring terrain
