Greetings Dakka, old member and long time follower here.

Odd idea here, so bear with me.

First time back in the hobby after a long while. No longer gaming atm, but lockdown inspiration struck and I have ended up with an army to paint. Eldar.

Did some commission work back in the day, and was an ok painter. Always flourished doing my own thing though. Earthy tones with vibrant additions.

Long story short, I could do this army to an ok TTS in a standard scheme, but have an idea for something unique I have never tried.

I like black and grey, have seen a few painters of minis specialise in it. Also like the trash polka style seen in tattoos, black n grey with red watercolour style splashes.

Has anyone seen black and grey minis with literal splashes of colours thrown in? Would love some inspiration.

Second thought is using a standard colour (striking Scorpion green for example) on helms or something. A limb here and there is too random, but also not random enough, to further confuse this haha.

Between bases and overall BnG I want a cohesive army but want vivid shades applied subtly and rarely to really sell this.

Any thoughts on how to go about it, or images sincerely appreciated.

Dakkadakka user Aelyn has posted some work in a sort of Sin City style that’s something like you describe. This image for example. https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/1113195-Belladamma%20Volga.html]

Wow, that's quite nice for what I had in mind, many thanks for sharing (and having any idea of what I was rattling on about).
