So a question inspired by the new stuff coming for AI, just wondering if there is anything in the fluff already on whether things like the Xiphon are normally painted regular DA green or belong to the Ravenwing and are painted black?

I've kind of assumed that they are "fleet" assets rather than belonging to a specific company and so was planning to go with green on my xiphons and storm eagles, but wanted to check there wasn't existing canon on this already (AI is dragging me back to the 40kverse - the last time I played was, I think, 6th Ed and so back when that terrible -IMO- Dark Talon fighter thing was added to the Ravenwing), wasn't sure if things have developed since then with the role of the Ravenwing.

Thanks!

I would imagine there are fleet assets as well as Ravenwing ones, depending on how they are needed.

Certainly you get regular and deathwing land raiders.

Is there out of interest a Raven- or Death- wing strike cruiser(s) or battlebarge?

I would assume that Xiphons are part of the regular Chapter armoury as the two Ravenwing aircraft are specific to the company i.e. they don't use things like Stormtalons or Stormhawks AFAIK and in the SM Codex, these units don't receive the Ravenwing keyword like all the Landspeeder and Bike variants.
As for naval assets, yes both the Deathwing and Ravenwing have their own ships since both companies are not supposed to mix with the rest of the Chapter lest the secret of the Fallen be spread. In the novel Ravenwing the 2nd and I believe 4th Companies gather on the 4th Companies Cruiser to celebrate the awarding of the Marksman's Honour to a member of the 4th. The end of the novel does see the companies work in closer concert as it is found that the separation between the two leads to constant conflicting orders and even clashes between Battlebrothers.

...thinking from a source perspective, does the current FW Index give either any of the SM flyers the Ravenwing keyword? While not conclusive, it would certainly be an indicator.

To be fair, you could paint some in DA green and some in RW black. And say that the RW black represents that craft having some sort of upgrade or ace pilot in it!

Typical!
