Have been trying to flesh our our tables for the past couple of years with printed bits - the kids wanted some basic bunkers which we will have to figure out some house rules for, here's the first one I made earlier this week:

Printed at 0.2mm layer height.

Here's one of the first things I designed - I always wanted some glowing plasma-coil-style terrain in Necromunda, and came up with these as scatter terrain:

Old prints - I should re-print them and take some fresh photos but you get the general gist.

Cheers They're Prusa Mk3S units with Bear frames and Bondtech BMG extruders. 5K+ print hours a year per machine and close to zero issues or maintenance required - super pleased with them.

Just needs a little more detail, like rivets down the buttresses and reinforced firing slots and that'd be mint.

For starters, great prints. As far as more details, it depends on what you envision them to be built out of. If they are supposed to be made out of metal, then perhaps some more details may be in order. If they are made out of concrete, then they look fine as is.

Thanks!

The original one I had designed based off the local WW2 bunkers/emplacements which are just plain with buttresses. I made a more detailed variation - will paint up both and see which one is more popular.

The improvements here are a great direction. I'd like to see the 3D models if you're down to post some pictures.

I like what I see.

If I'm not mistaken that's Blender ? Anyways good stuff. I'm curious if you followed a design or just used other reference images, or simply just created something you saw in your head.

It's a nice starting piece into 3D modelling, functional and to the point.

Yes, it's Blender - it's done us well for the past few years for 3D sculpting and modeling, though it does struggle performance-wise once you get past a couple of million vertices. Most of our stuff either doesn't stretch to that level of detail or can be created working around that for the higher detail resin stuff.

The bunker was mostly inspired by the WWII gun emplacements on the coast near here, with additional bracing. I modeled the forts as-is initially but they were really just featureless rectangles with slits...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
One of the early token boxes - Kill Team:

I'm going to go back and re-do this one to be magnetised, as they have proven to be more popular. Same with the compact KT box:

Also made a start on the dockyard stuff with three sizes of shipping container:

The containers have templates which press onto the side for brushing or spraying logos or letters - was a quick way of adding a bit of variety to the containers during the painting process.

Did up some easy-printing cut stone buildings that are magnetised and modular.

Pretty happy with it in play and the modular aspect of it has been great for changing the board up inbetween games.

I am astounded at how clean and precise your fdm prints are... I really need to dial in mine >_>.

Also, your stuff looks pretty great, too, clean and useable.

Thanks, on both accounts! The prints in the last post were all done at 0.08mm, which helps a lot - the stuff above was 0.2mm.

Cheers guys. I did up the wooden gangway as well - tried a different approach for the stone parts on each end, which I think works better:
