Wow, they're, em....
Well, let's just say that sculpting and design aesthetic has improved massively since the 80's, and these are definitely not indicative of that progression.

The front two trigger a little nostalgia, but yeah not killer execution...

The names (except Dyan) are all from women credited in WH40K Rogue Trader, though I don't know if this is exactly an honour.

I would personally be offended in their place.

All I can think of is that space marine meme where the one tells the other, poorly painted faced marine to be strong for mother.

Some things should stay in the past....

I thought they were going to be inspired on the mordheim sisters based on the thread title.

Execution is very well done, just replicating a style that is best moved on from.

I do love that 1980's vibe what with the tubes and wild hair and oddly thin sidearms, but they would look sadly out of place with my sisters force at this time...

I'm surprised by the response. These are a fantastic extension of the original female space marine sculpt! Plus, Satyr's production quality is always excellent. Thinking these will be great for Kill Team or as a squad for some Oldhammer army projects.

Most people aren't exactly into unironic Stylistic Suck.

I'm pretty sure the large community of Oldhammer collectors and players disagrees with you.

They sure aren't most of the fanbase, are they?

No but there are enough to sustain boutique mini makers like Satyr.

And drive up INSANE prices for pre-2000 models.

$13 for one Arbites?!

Uh anyway, they are out there, I think they're cool, but not quite cool enough to buy and paint immediately which at this point means I won't be getting them.

Whilst its a great throwback set of minis, Im much more of a fan of modern sister minis in comparison.

Thanks for the topic nevertheless, I think these would be a nice project for any old school fans. The sculpts are well done.

Not for everyone but then Nothing is.

The most exciting bit by far are the old hammer backpacks available separately!

They look dreadful, but it's clear they look dreadful on purpose, not because of lack of skill.

I wonder if the fact that they're not old enough to remember the Falklands is going to make it unappealing to some oldhamer collectors? I've no clue if that crowd is after the aesthetic or f they're original sculpt purists.

Bit of both. I've certainly bought models just because I remember them from White Dwarf (or Dragon before that) and can now afford them. More like collecting comics than buying figures to paint. But I've also picked up new retro style IG models because I want to flesh out an existing army.

While the style doesn't speak to me, the execution and adherence to the theme is wonderfully done. I'm glad these were made even if I don't personally love them.

Most Oldhammerers are after the aesthetic and are perfectly willing to buy new sculpts that copy or evoke the older miniatures. It's why the upscaled Rogue Trader Dreadnought and MkI Terminators a member of the Oldhammer Facebook group sculpted and cast sold out so quickly.

I don't think that I want to commit to painting a whole squad of these, but I did order one of the bolter-armed models. I'll convert her by adding a wimple so she can be Sister Sin from the Rogue Trader illustration.
