Pretty much as the title says, does anyone know if there’s any lore about the terminus ultra in any obscure places not on the wikis? I’m just curious as I plan on making a pair of them (well something similar if it’s too modern) for my Horus Heresy army and wanted to work in some lore if the Terminus Ultra was around at the time.

I don't think there is really anything. I'm pretty sure that it's first appearance was the Apocalypse expansion as the Space Marines only Apoc unit. It's probably used as a off-hand reference a few places but not much else. I could be wrong and it might have come from Epic before.

The Terminus has basically no background and isn't included in the Legion army list for HH. It's only ever appeared in 40k publications where it is only ever referred to as a vehicle of the Adeptus Astartes, unlike the Achilles and Proteus which are specifically referenced to as former Legion vehicles.

Then again, the HH lists don't give Custodes Land Raiders, or Sisters of Silence Rhinos, so for all we know it was around back then.

It's background from Apocalypse: Reload and Warzone: Damnos give no indication of the age of the design.

That is true but it's also true to say those factions only have those units in 40k because they both had a plastic kit and therefore needed to be an "army". The HH list is much more extensive with regards to unit choice, especially vehicles although IIRC many of the Custodes units were ported to 40k in 9th with the FW Index.

It doesn't but at the same time, most of the vehicles used by the Legions are specifically stated as such. Even the Prometheus variant has background that lists it as a design rumoured to have appeared in Loyalist forces during the Heresy.

It's mostly because the FW landraider designs (ie: prometheus, achillies, etc...) where written a few years back when they were all about background and lore.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I didn’t think there was anymore info but thought I’d ask. I could see it being a newer creation, though I suppose there’s always chance it’ll be said to be older if it ever gets fleshed out. My plan now is to make my own pattern that will essentially by a Terminus Ultra in all but name just in case, as it doesn’t seem too much of a stretch a legion would experiment with dedicated AT land raiders like the Cerberus/Spartan. Partly because I have most of the pieces already and want to add AT, and partly I love the design of it haha. For those interested currently it’ll be the Land Raider “Orthrus”, with 3 twin lascannons (sponsons and hull mount) and a havoc launcher on top.

Thanks again!
