After two years of development, we are happy to invite you to another battle! This time in the ruined city!

23rd of November, we are launching a new campaign on Kickstarter, and we are not starting without you! Featuring functional floors, bridges, and an all-new City Ruins Theme, Third Edition is the most complete terrain ever.

https://archon-studio.com/blog/rampart3

New Theme
We have also designed the all-new theme, “City Ruins”. It will support all your urban warfare, whether you’re waging your battle in the 1940s or in the 40th Millenium. This theme is rich with details and each piece of terrain has two sides - one featuring the external part of the building, the other more of the interior. If you are more into room-fighting, City Ruins got you covered.

Clear Plastic
After a successful implementation in Dungeons & Lasers, we are introducing clear plastic to the Rampart’s Universe. The new technology is coming in the Stretch Goals and in the new add-ons.

Bridges and roofing
We have redesigned the Rampart flooring system from scratch. “Functional floors” come as a universal add-on compatible with every theme, and they are capable of holding quite a lot of weight. So bring out your tanks, mechs, and all the infantry you can get - the floor is lava!

We are planning plenty of Stretch Goals and a large part of them are going to be standalone objects, slightly bigger than your average oil barrel or supply crate. This time, infantry will get some cover!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I've likes the Ramparts stuff I've had (mainly Kazumi temple), but the previous floors were pretty poor or if you were building intact buildings totally useless) so this looks a better idea

(although DIY foamboard will still probably be cheaper)

so i'll look forward to seeing more of what they have to offer

I’m always on the edge of pledging for these kickstarters but never quite pushed over. How are their sets to work with?

It is really great value terrain. Got a ton of their cathedral and some of their industrial terrain. Compared to GW, the design is not as good, but you get a lot more plastic for the money.

An issue with previous sets have been floors. There have only been terraces, not full floors, but that looks like something they are fixing with this set.

Like a dream. I've probably thrown 1000€ at Archon by now and it's some of the best product out there. But to echo those above, the old floors sucked. Really they were balconies, and okay for that (except Kazumi style, which had a hideous support console) but totally naff for full floors or roofs.

Looks like just what I need for my Bolt Action games! Need some good city-fighting 1940 style building I can quickly throw together and disassemble for storage.

I have their Kazumi temple and starship tiles, and it good terrain for the price.

I do wish they would change their walls to have two plugs on a side (top & bottom, instead of one in the middle), as it would make it a little sturdier, but that's a relatively minor issue.

It never ends well

I think that's because the other themes have double height walls, and those have 2 plugs, if the shorts had 2 the talls would need 4 to stay compatible.

We decided to do a late pledge for Rampart just the other day after seeing their stall at Spiele in Essen. We pledged for all three styles but I have to say this new one, cool as it may look, does not fit any of our projects… so this will be a difficult ks for us to back I think.

It would be nice if the new floor looks ok with the older styles rather than just the new ruined city style.

I was interested to see what they would do, but as presented I don’t think this fits anything I working on.
Stretch goals feel like things I could get elsewhere, so the main buildings just look like they missing stuff.
Rather than being ruined residential or commercial, so will be waiting to see what they have in store for add ons.

But I worry it will be just like the mantic plastics, so much potential but half the plastic serve mostly as wasted due to a lack of the normal looking peaces.

There’s an existing thread for this

Can they be merged or can we pick one? (Not bothered which but it’s better not to have 2 going at the same time)

They confirmed the date is the 23rd on Facebook 22nd was an error.
