I just finished watching the 2 animated movies.

Pretty great!

Like other animated adaptations of other classic Batman stories, they stay pretty faithful to the source material but change just enough that if you know the comic you don't necessarily know the killer in the movie. I think Gotham by Gaslight is still my favorite but this one is up there along with Under The Red Hood.

Available on HBO Max. Do recommend.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I loved the small detail where Batman’s on a roof and you see an explosion in the distance, and a second or two later you hear it. Actually accurate.

Not gonna lie, i wasn't a big fan. I feel like there was a distinct lack of ambient background music for some parts of the movie that made it feel stilted and Batman comes off as incredibly incompetent rather than inexperienced. Catwoman pretty much bails him out of every fight he's in. I get there's the trope of Batman being OP because he's overprepared for everything and I definitely don't think he should be able to stand toe to toe with people like Darkseid, but at the same time when its localized to just the villains in Gotham, its hilarious how bad he performs in both a crimefighter and detective capacity in this movie. I also don't like the change they made at the very end of the movie compared to the comic.
