I am starting to play Pokemon TCG games with my son - we have just started off with the Battle Academy box set which has a couple of decks and a walkthrough type tutorial. One of the things I read online is that apparently you can buy pre-built decks, ready to go. Is this true and is it a thing? Does anyone have any resources for best places to get these in the UK? I don't need anything super competitive - just a couple of decently matched, varied and fun decks to play with.

Edit: Plus any other online tools and resources that you think would be helpful would be most appreciated as well.

Man, I haven’t played the card game in eons. I remember way back when there was a way to get pre-made decks. Looking briefly on the website, it seems pre-made decks are still a thing.

Not sure where specifically to find them in the UK however. If there’s some equivalent to GameStop in your area, you might be able to find them there. I know some local FLGSs sometimes have them in stock too.

Do a search for 'Pokemon battle deck' (which is what they are called). You can buy 'trainer kits' as well that are quite nice when starting with the game - they generally contain extra energy cards, other cards, guides, and card sleeves, as well as a coin.
