Outrider detachment has custom trait for +2 movement and hunters of ancient relics. Speed and lethality. They can move 16+6 auto advance and still shoot weapons. 22+12 is solid range. Windriders have one job. Shooting things off objectives. The dire avengers just run up the board to cap the nearest objectives.

The spearhead detachment also has +2 movement and expert crafters. The warp hunters all have star engines for 2d6 advance and crystal targeting matrix so they can advance and shoot. They will move 16+2d6 and AUTO hit 12” with 3 shot of S12. -4AP. D6 weapons.

The plan is to totally overwhelm one section of the board at a time with D-Flails to murder tanks. The shining spears handle elite infantry. And the windriders the light stuff. The spears get +1 attack, do supreme disdain, and empower for exploding 6’s. I think the army is very thematic and also can surprise shock the enemy with the extremely aggressive movement and concentration of firepower in one area of the map. Should be fun to play anyway. My armor is my speed and getting into cover behind terrain and flying out of line of sight.

You'd save yourself CP if you changed your Spearhead to a Battalion and moved your warlord into it with the squad of Dire Avengers. You're gimping yourself right away otherwise.

Looks like a fun list though, plenty of screening options. My only concern would be the squads of 6 bikes being vulnerable to blast weapons.

If I am correct, I cannot put 6 fast attack slots into a Battalion Detachment. But you make a good point on having units of 5 windriders instead of 6. I could lower it to 5 and then put in a 4th unit of dire avengers to hold backfield
objective, or try to run and grab others.

I am excited to paint up my last 2 warp hunters and give this a shot. Having them move up 16+2d6 inches and fire 3 auto hitting S12 AP-4 D6 shots is pretty amazing. I know they will have so much movement they will get into really good positions every turn no problem. I love units like war walkers/shadow specters, support cannons, but this list is meant for Saim Hann theme.

If they do change Saim Hann rules for 9th and make them more like the new ork speed freeks rules, then we will get windriders with objective secured and 5+ invuln when advancing. Then vypers with D3+3 bright lances. I am excited for the 9th edition Saim Hann. Gonna be a lot of fun.

No, I mean change the spearhead to a battalion, you can still keep the outrider in it's current guise, just move the dire avengers to the one with the rest of them.

Make the Autarch the Warlord (detachments are irrelevant since you are running an Outrider and Spearhead). Choose a Warlord Trait that best suits what you want.

I don't overly rate Vibro Cannons in 9th, but they can at least provide some long range chip damage.

The vibro cannons are just for making enemy units lose the ability to advance snd hold them down to hit with d cannons and missile launcher spam. Lol
