Black Templar Recruit Undergoing Surgeries

Simple list:

Terminator Marshal (105) - Power Axe (Perdition's Edge), Storm Shield, Warlord & Heir of Sigismund (Master of Arms & Paragon's Fury)
Primaris Chaplain (110) - Master of Sanctity, Litany of Divine Protection & Fires of Devotion, Ancient Breviary

Primaris Crusader Squad (401) - 8 Neos (sword & pistol), 7 Initiates (sword & pistol), 4 Initiates (power fist & pistol), 1 Sword Brother (Sword of Judgement & pistol)

Redemptor (185) - Macro Plasma, Rocket Pod, OGC, SBs
Relic Terminators (195) - 2x combi-bolter & lightning claw, 2x combi-bolter & power fist, Sword Brother with Fist of Balthus, combi-bolter, and Champion of the Feast

996pts, 2CP remaining

Marshal is a beatstick, and teleports with Terminators who will hose infantry with Fury of the First and smack most things in combat (SB especially nasty with Fist of Balthus).

Big blob of Crusaders buffed with 5++ (vow) and 5+++ (Chaplain), before swapping to re-rolling all hits and +1A in combat. Redemptor on hand to give re-rolls 1 to wound, and also provide firepower of its own.

Rethinking to spread eggs around baskets a bit more:

Terminator Marshal (105) - Warlord, Heir of Sigismund (Master of Arms & Paragon of Fury), Sword of Judgement & Storm Shield
Primaris Chaplain (110) - Master of Sanctity (Divine Protection & Fires of Devotion), Ancient Breviary

5 Assault Intercessors (105) - Power Fist
5 Incursors (105)

Redemptor (185) - Plasma, Rocket Pod, OCG, SBs
5 Assault Terminators (215) - TH&SS, Sergeant is Champion of the Feast w/ Master-crafted Thunder Hammer

2 Invader ATVs (170) - Multi-Meltas

995pts, 2CP remaining

Chaplain moves up with Assault Intercessors and Redemptor, Incursors can grab objective early. ATVs tank-hunt, and Marshal comes down with Terminators to deliver hammerblow.

Further rethink, think this does better, more early objective-grabbing and still a sizeable second wave in terms of dakka and close combat:

Primaris Marshal (95) - Sword of Judgement & Plasma Pistol, Warlord & Heir of Sigismund (Master of Arms, Paragon of Fury)
Primaris Castellan (75) - Teeth of Terra, Hero of the Chapter (Imperium's Sword)

5 Incursors (105)
5 Incursors (105)

Redemptor (185) - MacroPlasma, OCG, SBs, Rocket Pod
5 Sword Brethren (137) - 1x twin Claws, 1x Thunder Hammer (Champion of the Feast), 3x Power Sword

9 Hellblasters (297) - Assault Plasma

999pts, 2CP remaining

I like the experimentation. Few things to consider: Make sure you never leave without a Chaplain. The litanies are too good to pass on and it enables the templars relic bearers, which make our squads very unique and in many ways terrifying. Utilize them whenever you can.

Bladeguard Vets are probably 1 of the best and most reliable units in black templars. Put Icon of Heinneman on them with an apothecary nearby and you are pretty much unkillable. Could even play around with champion of the feast. I do like your loadout for sword brethren though. Eventually i’ll try it out. For now mine will be converted to bladeguard vets.

Consider some Vanguard Vets with jump packs. 2-3 Stormshields, solo and double lightning claws. Sergeant with either Fist of Balthus or Sword of Judgement. Holy orb.

On higher point values you might want to consider the high body primaris crusader squads. With uphold and FNP litanies + other synergies you can make this unit an unshiftable blob of melee carnage and crusade onwards to the middle of the field. It kills anything it touches.

Do you really find the Relic Bearers that good? Even Icon of Heinneman as you suggested. The relic only effects one model and I don't see any of them being that impactful. But I haven't tried them out yet. On paper they look nothing more then cute flavor to make a model unique.

Yes, they are very impactful. Heinneman a Bladeguard vet and you'll be saving on 2+ till AP-3. You can even champion of the feast on top of that and litannies FNP. You can make it as crazy as you want. Stick an apothecary next to it and if he dies, you bring him back next turn. I've had a blade guard unit survive 2 baneblades for 3 turns before. It was hilarious and made my guard friend frown. Also don't underestimate the strength of the Holy Orb. It can force an opponent unit to fight last. Combining the sword of judgment or fist of balthus with Champion of the feast is great as well. Terminators with the Sigismund's Seal are great too, if you are targetting a big target like a Hierodule or a Baneblade for example. Those re-rolls especially on the to hits are great for those fists.

Reviving mini-captains seems to be an unintended big strength for us. BGV Sergeant with Sword of Judgement, Champion of the Feast, tanking small-arms fire then just getting back up again... it is nasty!

Looks like Black Templars got their first GT win, using a combo of character aura boosted Redemptors, with Uphold Vow, beefed up crusader squads and pretty much spreading Artefacts and Icon Bearers across many of the units: https://youtu.be/nj3K0IzUa60

Another rejig:

Primaris Chaplain on Bike (140) - Master of Sanctity (Divine Protection, Oath of Glory), Benediction of Fury, Heir of Sigismund (Wise Orator, Paragon of Fury)

Primaris Crusaders (188) - 5x Initiates w/ Auto Bolt Rifles, 4x Neophytes w/ Bolt Carbines, 1x SB w/ Sword of Judgement & Champion of the Feast

Redemptor (185) - Macro Plasma, OCG, Rocket Pod, SBs
10 Sword Brethren (262) - 2x Twin Lightning Claws, 2x Thunder Hammers, 2x Power Swords, 4x Chainswords

3 Eradicators (150) - Heavy Melta Rifle
Rapier Carrier (75) - Quad Heavy Bolter

1000pts, 3CP

Tough general-purpose shooty Crusader unit, big SB blob advancing with beatstick Chappy, and shooting support with Redemptor, Eradicators, and a Rapier benefitting from 5++.
