This came out a good number of years ago, and I haven't seen much discussion about it here on Dakka Dakka.

https://www.perry-miniatures.com/product/bb-2-travelbattle/

I haven't had much experience with the Napoleonic period in gaming aside from Command & Colours: Napoleonics, and a few games of Black Powder, both of which I enjoy.

This looks to offer quite a lot, a board, terrain, 2 forces, dice, and rules. As it says it is a complete game in a box. Been trying to find reviews of the rules online, and it has proven to be quite difficult.

So, I've ordered myself a copy of it. If the rules aren't up to much, I am very tempted to either port over the blackpowder rules, or just use the duce from Command & Colours: Napoleonics with a few changes here and there.

Has anyone had an experience with this game/product?

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

I have the set, and extra blue and red spues but have not played yet.

May have to bump it up on the paint priority list.

If you can, please post a play review. I would like to know more....

From what I have heard the rules are fairly poor, but you have to consider what the game is. Slap down some boards put miniatures on the squares and start shooting each other. It is not supposed to be a simulation wargame but a boardgame with a wargaming veneer.

For this purpose the rules are servicable.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

So, sort of a Kreigspiel with a Nappy sheen?

When I work out what Nappy sheen is I might be able to answer that.

I wouldn't actually mind a napoleonic kriegspiel, the only problem is I don't travel that much!

It feels as though it would defeat the purpose.

Managed to do a quick unboxing video. Once I have painted up the models I'll go over how the game plays in a future video.

For me the biggest criticism is the size of the box. A bit big for a travel game. The box should have been just enough to fit the board sections flush on three sides against the cardboard and with the fourth side extended for the foam channel containing the miniatures and dice. They could have made the box significantly smaller and thus more 'travel' compatible.

Yeah, it seems a little bit beefy. But I'm still intrigued by it.

I wonder how it would look bringing it on as carryon for a plane ride.

The main limiter on space are the boards, the game could have saved space vby not only conforming the box to the boards but shaving a couple of mm from each square, which is generous for the miniatures included in it.
You could save 2cm on each board size without harming aesthetics and further cut the box down.

By now you are looking at about 29x33cm external dimensions and the 'travel' moniker starts to look realistic.
