Out of my Mind

Hey all,

This issue came up in a recent game that's never happened before.

Mephrit Dynasty rules add 3" and +1 AP @1/2 range. 'Conduit of the Stars' replaces the Relic Gauss blaster on Royal Wardens. It is ONLY available to Mephrit Dynasty Wardens.

So it was an honest question from my opponent where he simply asked if the Dynasty rules further buff when the weapon stats as they are printed, are only available to Mephrit in the first place. His argument was basically based on the printed range being the final range since a player has to pick Mephrit before having access to the Conduit. I simply argued that the normal Relic Gauss Blaster would get the Mephrit benefits, and there is no rule in the Conduit that grants the AP bonus.

We played it that it did, since I covered all of it pre-game when we went over our lists. When we drew the Mission, we ended up playing on the short edges of a 6x4 table, and that 3" actually made a difference. Not game breaking or anything that ever came up after turn 1. I said I'd look/ask into it, so here I am.

Thanks.

Unless the Mephrit trait specifically excludes Relics, it would apply.

Agreed, its a ranged weapon, and the +3" range applies to it.

And remember that just because the relic can only be on a Mephrit Character does not mean that character always benefits from the Solar Fury Dynastic Code. Thus, you cannot logically assume the benefits of the Code are built into the relic, barring a rule that states the relic does not benefit from the Dynastic Code.
