For me it is a massive NO.

In my opinion, in a very strict sense GW's statements bear little to no resemblance to their business practices.

It is fine to make social statements, but these statements have little meaning and value if your company does not back them up within its internal structure.

GW's snarky and rather hollow statements such as "We don't want your money" and "You will not be missed" doesn't translate at all when they are dealing with authoritarian states like CCP China where these authorities have a direct discrimination agenda and campaigns against ethnicities and minority groups of all kinds,

For example in CCP China, there's a nationalistic social engineering campaign directly intended to attack groups of people with the ramping up of restrictions, censorship and human rights abuses.

GW shouldn't be doing business with governments that have forced labour camps and social engineering pogroms.

If they actually cared they'd pull out of mainland chinese production.

Put your money where your mouth is GW. Have some integrity and do what is right.

As long as GW operates within a capitalist system, the incentive will always be to deal with China. This is just the way of capitalism. Capitalism does not reward integrity or doing the right thing.

I'm on a podcast about (video) game design:

And I also stream tabletop painting/playing Mon&Thurs 8PM EST

And make YouTube videos for that sometimes!

Except companies exist that don't outsource manufacture in China.
The "evil capitalism" schtick is a non-argument which is easily defeated.

The problem is....statist authoritarian power structures hell bent on social engineering due to questionable and historically failed ideologies.

Here's a recent example of the "Always capitalism" schtick not applying:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/dec/02/china-hits-back-at-wta-boycott-as-ioc-talks-again-to-peng-shuai

The WTA’s boycott decision marked a significant shift in how sports associations have dealt with China. In the past, organisations have rapidly backed down from rows with Beijing for fear of losing its lucrative market.

The reward of doing what is right should always be founded on intrinsic motivations. Viewing it in the lens of extrinsic motivations defeats the purpose of doing what is right.

This is bait. I advise everyone to treat it as such.

Maybe you should you worry about your own country before china. You literally can't leave home without permission. Please tell me this post was written by someone locked in a camp.

Whataboutism equates health policy to forced labour camps. Classy.

At least we can go throughout our school years without being traumatised by weekly "active shooter" drills - yeah, our wildlife may be deadly, but they don't pack heat as well.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Guess this thread is made because the whole statement of GW about their game universes and how some hate groups use it for their own nauseating ideology, and trying to whataboutism it so that we forget the said hate groups and their nauseating ideologies.

Let's also remember Goldenhorde is one of those defending these said hate groups and then complaining about being treated like them by other users in the Nuts and Bolts sub-forum.

Better not bite the bait, indeed.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
