So with Nagash new warscroll, the Warmaster trait has me slightly confused. It states that you gain the faction keyword of the army you choose (SBGL, Bone Reapers, etc.) and also use the alliance abilities, but you can not benefit from them.

So does that mean for example I go Soulblight Gravelords and cast a spell. It’s a 9+ to my cast. Do I actually benefit from the double cast? Isn’t that an alliance ability?

No you don't get keyword. You can include him on those armies. Still no keyword. Being able to use allegiaece abilitles mean that just because army has non-army model you would not have allegiance abilitles so no 6+ fnp for nighthaunt etc. This stops that. But nagash himself doesn't benefit so no deathless save etc

“In addition, you can use the Army’s allegiance abilities even though this unit is not from the Army’s faction.”

That’s the part of the paragraph that’s confusing. It sounds like the unit itself, but it’s speaking to the army.

After that, the last sentence states “however this unit does not benefit from them.”

So it says you can use abilities, but not benefit. Very confusing statement.

Without that statement bonereapers would lose deathles save, their own cp rules, immunity to bs etc. Nighthaunts would lose attack after charge on high rolls, deathless saves etc.

If all models don't have faction keyword you don't have allegiance rules unless exception given. Allies have. This does too.
