So it has been a long time since I have painted much in the way of GW miniatures, probably about 10 years. However at the end of last year I attended my first local warhammer 40k touranment in ages and so I thought I would dig out the eldar and get some more of them painted. In the two weeks before the tournament I had paint 4 grav tanks and a unit of dire avengers to go with my old models. This is what I have currently painted over the years- some quite new but others old. I am currently working on a unit of wriathbaldes and have just finished a unit of Banshees. All the miniatures are either plastic or metal. I am still have a few miniatures bnib (metal or plastic) that I will get to over time. With the update to the eldar it has inspired me to dust off what I have and update this army quite a bit. The pictures are not quite the best but gives you the general idea.

Agreed. They and the Wraithguard are my favourites.

Awesome stuff! What model is that character in the 4th picture from the bottom? The one standing on front of the banshees and Dire avengers. Looks like a kit bash, but what parts did you use?

It was the Prince Yriel model (metal). The waist had been changed using a dremel and re- sculpted. The back banner has had the flags cut off and then replaced by eldar bits (cant remember from what- gun pieces). The head is easy- dire avengers (cut off and then replaced). The shield arm then was from I think a plastic miniature, then a round shield has been modified and attached.

Really amazing showpiece army.
As I see it, you use two very different styles. One style has more warm earthy colours, like banshees, harlies, wraithguard and many other great units. These ones are some of the best eldar I have seen in a while.

On the other hand, the more recent blue stuff I feel the blue glow effect take over somewhat. Then again, the eldar army is a mess of different styles and colours, bright sci-fi and dusty arcane, so I guess its fitting.

Oh, some really great converted characters there.
