I only heard about this yesterday during the super game, decided I wanted to watch the trailer again and holy hell is the comment section a cesspool. The trailer looked great!

Why oh why are there so many angry people?

Oh for feths sake.

So it's a bunch of racists mad that they're adding some color to the cast and it's not 100% faithful to the original.

Okay, now I don't feel bad about being interested in seeing this at all. I thought the trailer looked dope.

It depends what you want.

I am not looking forward to Galadriel scaling mountains in armour and hitting things with a sword as if she was Feanor or Turin. As if the only way to show strength and leadership was through war. It makes me think they wanted to combine Brienne of Tarth with the Witcher.

I enjoyed the immersion of having the hobbits looking homogeneous, as well as the Gondorians and the peoples of Rohan in the LotR's Peter Jackson movies.

I did not like the pretty Dwarfs in the Hobbit, and I do not like the pretty Dwarf princess.

I do not like a Dark skin Silvan Elf, because he is supposed to be a Silvan Elf.

There are dark shinned people in Tolkien's world, why couldn't they have written people from Harad or Khand into the story, instead of pretending that minorities have no history and are just different coloured members of other peoples culture.
