I figured this might be the best place to ask. Might be a dumb question...
I wanted to get a cabinet like this:
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/fabrikoer-glass-door-cabinet-pale-gray-green-50460122/#content
Something fancy that the wife won't mind. Locking optional. These are sold out unfortunately so I was wondering if any of you encountered something similar that you liked and the misses didn't balk at?

Have you considered the Ikea Detolf?
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/detolf-glass-door-cabinet-black-brown-10119206/
I've seen the Fabrikoer and Detolf side by side many times and (at least for me), the Detolf has a much more polished, minimalist feel while simultaneously having almost double the display capacity. The Fabrikoer just feels...too tacky and faux-industrial to me, and I'm personally not a fan.
What is your budget, and how much are you looking to store is the bigger question?

I believe the go to cabinet for wargamers has always been the Ikea Detolf. Cheap, useful and easy to modify with lights for extra displayiness and they take up feth all floor space.
I have 3 of them and i've found them to be very good. They can be a pain in to arse to assemble even with two people, but that's the only negative I have for them. As far the the missus was concerned, they follow the same rule as all my wargaming stuff. She doesn't mind it as long as it doesn't stray into the lounge room.
We also have a Billy bookcase w/glass doors that we use as a free-standing pantry. But I've called dibs on it when we move into a new place with an actual pantry as it'd act as a good display cabinet in itself as its wide with lots of shelves.

Detolf is certainly the flayed workhorse of mini display cabinets, but I don't use mine for my primarch collection (which is the pride and joy of my display, simply because unless you get dust seals for them, they gather dust like crazy and this is a huge pain when you have tons of miniatures in them. I found a small display cabinet with a glass front which I use for my primarchs. Detolf is a good option for sure but dust seals are probably a good investment. I should get some myself really

Something I've found that can help reduce the quantity of dust you get is to have shot glasses of water (or some suitable container) on each level. The water evaporationhelps to reduce the quantity of dust (not prevent, but I definitely have to clean far less than I used to).

Def get the Detolf.
What you can also do to make it the Detolf+ is, ikea knowing full well what they are doing, sell LED strips that can fit it so you can plug it in and light it, ontop of that, you can also get some rubber tubing to help seal the entire cabnit as well.
Fair warning the detolf has got some wobble in the shelf when you open and close the door, so be fareful when you do that, but the actual structure itself is solid.

To many unpainted models to count. |

If room space happens to be a scarce resource.
(deep frames) or shadowbox frame to utilize wall space.
I cant find the exact video but the idea is similar to the DIY lego display frames but with metal strips and magnet bases.
