Tyranid warrior. S5 T5 3 wounds 4+ save. Good gun and melee. 25 points. Access to synaptic imperatives.

Heavy Interscessor. S4 T5 3 wounds 3+ save. Worse gun and melee. 28 points. Access to Gravis Armour stratagem, trans human stratagem. Also, armour of contempt.

Of course the codex around them is vastly different. Tyranids give one unit re roll. SM do it on an aura. Leviathan warriors come with transhuman.

How do they compare? I think they are very evenly matches. The interscessor is more exspensive but is a defensive spwlecialist. The warrior is more of an all around generalist. I think the best thing about the warrior is that their minimum squad is 3.

I was musing these two while on my hike today. Thought it would be interesting to see what others thought about it. And yes, we are comparing two very different things here.

I don't count strats a lot for unit abilities because you get to use the Strat once a turn. You can say Heavy Intercessors have Transhuman, but that's only one squad out of however many you bring.
