So I'm curious, for stuff like the virtue of courage teaching. It says that on an unmodified roll of 6, one extra hit is scored. With lightning locks (each unmodified hit roll of 6 scores 2 additional hits)
would that mean each 6 would be 3 hits or 4 or even 5? 1+2+1 or (1+2)+2 or (1+2)+(1+2)

And for chainsweep strategem it says make 1 additional hit roll each time the model makes an attack. So would that be 1 extra attack for the model or 1 extra per attack characteristic? Like a knight gallant would get 3(5+1) or 3(5+5) when sweeping?

It is 4 for lightning locks each 6 is 1+2 +1

For chainsweep it is a little more complex

Only A put into the sweep profile get an extra A but you get an extra A for each A you put into it e.g an errant would make 4 A per A on its datasheet used that way with the stratagem for 16 as opposed to 12 without.

But would each of those extra hit rolls themself be x3 since for each hit roll you make with that profile you make 3 instead?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Ie 24 total attacks as the errant since it's 8 attacks total each one causing 3 extra hits since in sweep

Its 4 for lightning locks.

I dont know how many attacks a gallant has. But lets assume he has 5. In that case you would make 15 hit rolls with the sweep profile. With the chainsweep stratagem you would make one additional hit roll for each attack, adding 5 more, for a total of 20 attacks.

No, you are muddling up Attacks and Hit rolls. The key thing to look at is the wording on the Stratagem:

if that attack is made using the Sweep profile of a reaper chainsword or reaper chain-cleaver (or a Relic that replaces such a weapon), make 1 additional hit roll.

Each Attack gets an extra Hit roll. Now compare that to the wording for the Reaper:

Each time an attack is made with this weapon profile, make 3 hit rolls instead of 1.

From this you can see that an Attack is not the same as a Hit roll. An attack, may make more than one Hit Roll but each roll is not an Attack.

For the specific case of the Errant you get Number of Attacks on the Profile x (Hit rolls from the Sweep profile + Bonus for Stratagem).

4 x ( 3 + 1 ) = 16 Hit rolls
