I've bought a copy of The Lost and the Damned that at some point has had a big chunk of the spine torn off but is otherwise pretty good. (see pic)

I know a professional book-restorer nearby whom I've used in the past, so I'd be really grateful if anyone could PM me a good scan of the missing part? (and only the missing part - for 'fair use' purposes)

I'll try and post a pic of the repair once it's done - from a modelling point of view I find bookbinding fascinating and these particular rulebooks have historical value as a pinnacle of British civilisation

I feel like you should PM Mad Doc Grotsnik directly, he might be able to help you out.

GW sells reprints at events so shouldn't be too difficult to find one of those, but I don't know if there is some difference between that and the original.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Reprints no longer available, and no sign they’re coming back in stock at WHW.

I do have a copy, so might be able to provide an image. However I’m holiday at the moment (the lifestyle of the rich and the famous, honest!), so can’t do owt until I’m back, and I’ve checked if my mate has a suitable scanner.

Quick bump in case @Mad Doc Grotsnik is back from holidays

A cameraphone photo might work for this

The lettering I guess I could get from the Slaves to Darkness book. And the missing background image I could photoshop - as it's just clouds. But a pic of the real thing would be much better

One of the paradoxical things about old books - really old ones - is that it's often people's reading copies that survive. The ones that people read every day and write comments in the margins are safer in the long run.

"Crap, it's the Huns. I'll just grab Horace's Odes off the counter - nothing worse than fleeing to some remote island in Hibernia and having nothing to read."

The mint copies that they keep in specially-protected environments in Great Libraries - everyone thinks those are safe until some caliph turns up with a match.
