Cut off PSM's hand and replace it with these special / heavy weapons. Is the size appropriate?

The picture here shows the effect of the new CSM heavy weapon (heavy bolter) fit on the PSM body. It can be seen that the size is appropriate "just fine". Therefore, those new weapon kits for MK6 may fit on PSM well.

The one report I saw on the special weapons is that they are keyed to specific arms in the Mk VI set, so might be hard to generically port to other marks/ranges without a little work.

The heavies look to have their own arms, so as long as the torsos are the same size it should work fine? I don’t play Chaos, so know nothing about the general compatibility of the ranges. Also havn’t seen much on the new kits, so YMMV.

Edit: I don’t know why I thought you were trying to put them on chaos, not primaris. I blame lack of coffee. Late stage firstborn parts tend to be close enough to primaris scale that they can work just fine. Most of the size comes from the torso/legs, the arms are about the same. Old parts that are years of scale creep behind tend to be a little one the small side, but I suspect the Mk. VI stuff should be fine.

The size should be fine - primaris didn't rescale the guns per se, they just switched to new, longer barrel versions. The bolt carbine is very similar scale to the classic bolter for example.

Obviously classic weapons may not match the official primaris variant design, but it will depend what you use for what purpose etc.

The main issue will be fitting to the arms. Primaris arms are a few percent larger and longer than classic marines - firstborn arms look a bit stubby on primaris. So the heavy weapons which have full arms integrated might be a little odd. It bothers some people more than others!

Similarly, because they come with both hands molded to the gun, you may need to do some minor reposing/greenstuff to get existing primaris arms to fit with the fixed hand positions.

e.g. from the tale of painters review fitting the new specials to mark iv arms have a bit of a gap. But nothing that shouldn't be fixable with a little effort.

Now all three MkVI heavy weapon sets are on the market. Has anyone tried the fiting them on PSM?

The new MKVI kit has resized the hands, which are now smaller than other firstborn plastics. So while this might work, the hands might look tiny on a Primaris

Plenty of bitz sellers on the WWW selling individual MKVI special/Hvy weapons, so why not just grab one and see how you like it?
