Heya fellow Dakkanauts.

Okay, this is a shot in the dark, but maybe someone's Google-Fu is better than mine.

I re-based my old Mordheim Possessed warband not too long ago and I'm just now getting around finishing that process. In 2004 (or 2003?) I had entered the original models in the Golden Demon and they actually made the first cut. I even remember seeing Michael Perry holding my Magister in his prosthetic hand during the judging.

GW took two photos of my warband and posted them temporarily on their website. I was trying to find the old photos so I could put them side by side with the updated version warband. Sadly, I think I lost it in a computer crash.

This is the current warband:

Originally they were mounted on square bases (still with yellowy-beige cobblestones) and I had at least one vintage metal Beastman in there. There was also a familiar made of a Warhammer Quest spider with the blind-folded Tzeentch mutation sprue head.

If anyone can find the original GW professional photos, I would be very grateful

Here's a better picture with everyone except one Beastman who ended up as conversion fodder:

I have one more device to check for my copy of GW's photos, otherwise it's back to scrolling through search engines & hoping for the best.

Do you know the website the photos were posted on? If so, you could see if it shows up on the wayback machine? To be honest, though, I think it's very unlikely you'll find images still hosted from that far back... I guess you never know, though?

They were posted on https://www.games-workshop.com. It never occurred to me to try the wayback machine! Thanks!

Okay, so after much digging around on the Wayback Machine, I was able to confirm it was actually the 2002 Baltimore Golden Demon.

What sucks is that the link the uncropped version of the photo was not archived. But I am grateful I found even this and prove my entry really did get photographed & posted by GW.

I don't mean to be condescending as this is quite possibly the first thing you did, but have you tried contacting GW? I believe it's equally as likely that they still have them in their collection somewhere. From what I've seen in Warhammer Community articles and other times they've referenced old works, they either keep digital or physical copies of everything. That said, who knows with a competition from 20 years ago, but if it was an official GW competition and the photos were taken by an official GW photographer, they're likely either in GWs collection or possibly even that photographers personal collection.

It's not condescending; it just never occurred to me before (much like going the Wayback Machine route). Thanks, Sarge!

I guess I'm emailing GW tonight, saying a little prayer to the realm of chaos, and seeing what happens

EDIT: Email sent. I contacted the community tab email and included some pics so I didn't sound completely insane. Maybe they'll even respond?

Heh, I feel like I'm in one of those "lost media" YouTube videos.

Should I post some more of the recent photos I took of these guys in the mean time? Or is the search for the old photo more interesting?

I'm still looking for the better 2002 pic of my Golden Demon entry. But while doing so, I found out Stuff Of Legends took a photo of my 2003 entry:

I wasn't expecting to find this, so I thought I'd share. The nostalgia is real!

The hunt continues...

Well, I finally found the image hidden deep in seldom used flashdrive under an unrelated file name:

Thanks to everyone who offered their help on this thread

Glad to see a payoff on this thread, the picture was worth the wait. I like the use of fillers and a movement tray to present the gang as a group.

The supply does not get to make the demands.
