Saw someone ask this post on Reddit and now am considering trying the game. Person who wrote original posts explains the specifcs of my question better than I could. Pretty much whatever I'll have to say is in the link.

I like Fire Team a lot. I would call it a junior version of Kill Team - squad versus squad. The box (found at Barnes & Noble online) contains space marine versus necron squads and it comes with the cards for 3 other units that you have to purchase the minis separately. I find it very balanced and a hoot to play. Faster to get into than Kill Team for someone like me who plays mostly solo.

I played it a few times. It was Ok though I was a bit disappointed with my Tau force who seemed a bit weak.
