I'm putting together a YouTube channel where I will be talking about some of my favorite franchises, Warhammer included. I notice on many of these such channels, they take art straight from copyrighted sources. I obviously can't use copyrighted music, or copyrighted art in my channel banner/logo, but does anyone here know the rules for this concerning within videos?

Look up "fair use". As a TL;DR you are permitted to use limited excerpts from a copyrighted work for purposes of commentary on that work.

(It is also possible that the videos in question do contain illegal use of copyrighted material but GW isn't aware of them yet and hasn't shut them down.)

Real answer is no one cares until you're big, honestly.

I put up recordings straight from Warhammer+ for w.e dumb joke I'm making. 5k views and never been struck or warned or what have you.

If you're just starting, its going to likely be a long grind and build up. Do what you want and what you enjoy. Adjust later if you HAVE to.

Only thing thats ever happened to me is some music is an automatic copyright claim because w.e program checks sounds. They dont strike the channel or cause issues, you just wont be monetized for that single video... which isn't something to worry about for a long time anyway.
