It's been awhile since my last post here. It's been busy for me

I have a question though regarding Vallejo Matt varnish. Should I dilute it with water or vallejos airbursh thinner? I will be spraying it through my badger patriot. The varnish number on the bottle is 26.518

I haven't used it yet and didn't know if it's should be thinned with water or there thinner? Or not at all?

AH, well generally those you will wanna thin just a bit .with some go ol water.

You might need to play with it to get the right mix, but it should not be to much.

If you are able to use rattle cans where you are, i suggest instead using testors matte varnish, it comes in a little dinky baby can, smells like pool cleaning but gives the most amazing flat matte finish ever.

Vallejo matte varnish is as flat as dullcote.
I wouldn’t thin it myself, and try it undiluted first. It’s pretty thin as it is and I’ve never felt the need to thin it out either airbrushing it or brushing it on.

I've tended to thin it with water for use in my cheap no-brand airbrush, and it's been fine. Super-matte finish with a couple of coats.

I use the Vallejo matte through my airbrush straight. Might just need to up the PSI a bit, depending on which gun you have and needle size, etc. If you do need to thin it, use just a tiny amount of water.

Also, this stuff is a bit picky with spray distance and coat thickness. If you get too thick a coat, it will frost. If you spray from too far back, it will dry before hitting the model and frost/speckle. As usual with airbrushing things, multiple thin coats are better, and I've found a spray distance of 4-6" works about right.

Oh just make sure you clean it out after words, varnish can gunk your brush up something mean.
