According to lore The Thousand Sons scout units where called The Hidden ones, and from the image of them on Lexicanum, it would seem they are using Mrk III power armor.
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Hidden_Ones
My question is about their weapons according to the lore they would use either a Bolter, Bolt pistol, Shotgun, Plasma pistol, combi-weapon or a Sniper Riffle.
Most of these still exists in current 40k, but how does the parts compare in size to the size of the 30k Mrk III power armor models?
Are they reasonably compatible or are we heading into the territory of it almost looking like a human is using a Space Marine weapon or you need really good green stuff skills to make it work?

An example could be the Sniper rifles from the Eliminators.
They look cool and all but they might be too big for the Mrk III miniature.
Same with the 40k scouts while they might be more proportioned, i don´t know if i am good enough with green stuff to convert their hands into a space marine fist.
And since the hand is open and not closed that might be a problem.

So any suggestions or will i have to bite the bullet and buy some Reconnaissance Squads from Forgeworld??

The Deathwatch vetwrans should be pretty much all you need for these options; there’s combi guns and shotguns which are scaled to match pre-primaris space marines and will fir MKIII bodies perfectly.

The Deathwatch vets kit also comes with scoped bolters. The sniper-bolters in the forge world box are basically scoped bolters with long barrels. It’d be a really simple conversion to replace the barrels from the deathwatch with plastic rod or a sniper barrel cut from the plastic scouts
