So, I need to do some paint stripping. People are raving about BIOSTRIP 20. It's supposed to be amazing but only easily available in the UK .

Anyone know if a US available equivalent?

No idea, but 99% isopropyl alcohol will do the job just as well and just as quickly.

Same warning about turning resin rubbery though.

Biostrip isn't available in the US, and everybody has their own secret sauce. Personally, I use LA's Totally Awesome, which is somehow only available in dollar stores. I also splurged on an ultraonic cleaner, which has been a game changer.

You can get LA's Totally Awesome from places like Home Depot, too. I use it now, since Simple Green doesn't work like it did years ago.

Huh, good to know!

And there are some primers that simply will not come off plastic, at least in my experience.

Having bought biostrip 20 in the UK (it’s great) I can tell you that this is NOT the same stuff but might it be something similar

Apparently green stuff world products can be hard to get in the US (unless that’s changed) but I used their paint stripper once and it was just as effective as biostrip 20 but I hated the smell. But can make some resin brittle

Wow. Thanks for all the info. I actually have some LA awesome...though we used it for cleaning a very dirty oven...for which it was awesome.

I've seen the liquidguard product as well.

Quick update. So, I threw a model in some LA Awesome last night. After about 14 hours in the degreaser the blue paint came off and a bunch of the white primer came off.

This is where it gets fun.

So, the thickest parts of white primer haven't come off yet. But in the parts where it did I saw....drum roll please....another layer of black primer. Yes, these models have 2 layers of primer.

We'll see how the LA Awesome does in that. No wonder it was a bag of 24 guardians for next to nothing.

I use biostrip myself after getting some mini's off ebay that needed stripped.

It doesnt seem to thave been made specifically for gamers/modellers, so my thoughts where that its just a mild DIY store paint stripper that happens to work really good on plastic mini's.

Might be a similar type product at your local DIY store.
