Fantastic work there, i am sure that took tons of effort to make it look that good.

I am more of a 5th ed guy myself for overall core rules set although we did port in a few rules from 4th that made the game more interesting.

Hope you had a fun game. i often fight the 4th ed codex in our 5th ed games (we like it the best for orky codexes) and it is always entertaining.

I'm just happy to see more text and picture bat reps with the narrative focus. As much as I love youtube, just don't have time to watch this stuff for hours on end.

Hope to see more content in the future!

Writing the in depth story takes time as does all the visual effects added to the pictures, i play way too many games every weekend to give it that much detail, but it is nice to see.

You're playing with the 4th Ed 'Chaos' Codex?

Maybe go back one book for that army. It's much better.

The 3.5 book is better for all chaos armies our group still uses it in our 5th ed games

(and it is usually pretty cheap to buy an old copy)

Yes, my opponent used the one published at the very end of 4th. I was also using ork codex from the end of the 4th.

That's a shame. He should be using a proper Chaos Codex, not a "Loyalists w/Spikes" Codex.

Depends very much on the players involved.

If you aren't into listhammer and/or unit tweaking and just looking to play oldhammer casually then the 4e book is solid enough. You can't go too far wrong just picking units arbitrarily along with the most basic of upgrades.

On the flipside the 3.5 book offers all the options in the world as well as much better daemon integration. You can play all kinds of small twists and variations from army wide infiltration to berzerkers on juggernauts, but it's the last codex you want an overly competitive player getting their hands on and it offers a lot of rope for casuals to hang themselves with too.

I guess that the really important stuff is that both of us had a great time. We are going to play 4th on regular basis and what is more - we are doing an event for 10-12 players in October.

Cool.

4e rules Eldar can be unintentionally overpowered (just due to the way skimmers work) but otherwise you should be good. It'll be interesting to see how the tournament pans out.

Glorious! Loved the fully painted armies and narrative.

Even the terrain looked like the stuff I was using in 4th Ed!
