So I have recently started to apply transfers to my Iron Hands with a specific clan in mind. Although the sheet comes with a lot of transfers for all clans it is still not enough for my whole force. Do you guys have the same problems with your legion? Do you just start to apply other clan/company logos to your remaining models or do you just order another transfer sheet?

I try to use them sparingly. Decorating every marine in a tac squad will quickly deplete a transfer sheet. So I keep it to just a legion marking. And there are ways around it. Depending on what legion your playing, you can also use the 40k transfer sheets. Most space marine boxes come with a mix and you buy or trade them for cheap. I already have some 40k chaos transfer sheets and if I buy a word bearer sheet or two that should cover everything I would need.

With Iron Hands you can apply the Shattered Legions idea where multiple clans came together after Isstvan to form regular formations. So you could have multiple clans in one army without the need for any real sort of justification.

I just use everything on the transfer sheet that looks cool. Being 100% accurate isn't super important to me with fantasy games. Also the FW and bigger GW sheets get expensive if you're just using a few decals from each one.

This is my issue with the Dark Angels sheet.

Seeing as i'm theming my army around an early crusade-era 1st Legion the only transfers on there that are properly relevant to me are the winged reaper icons, the hooded skulls (pre-Lion legion symbol) and the generic unit marks. Even the more esoteric legion markings are largely post-Caliban reunification. I should think maybe 50% of the sheet would be useful to me.
I'm at the point where i'm seriously considering having my own transfers made up full of the icons I need.

Youll normally find you can sell half used sheets for a decent price on Facebook groups. Then use the money to get more sheets with bits you need. Rinse and repeat. Otherwise yeah custom transfers are the way to go. Or add some 40k ones in
