It’s been a while since I kitbashed something and I fancied having a go at a killtank. There were lots of Spartans going cheap on second hand sites so I figured this would make a good base and allow me to run it as a Battlewagon, transport or killtank.
I cheated a bit because I got halfway through and realised I’d like a pair of killtank so ordered a FW version and used the gigashoota.
It’s assembled now and I’m fairly happy with it although I’ll admit I took some easy options for a first kitbash.
So it’s a Spartan with some spare bits from other Ork kits, the resin gun from a FW killtank (although I have 2 plastic mini guns I could butcher & use instead), some bits from a T55 tank kit I had lying around and some dremeling. It’s not painted yet but I thought I would share.

Amazing stuff. The spiked treads is a nice touch and the way the gun fits is quite convenient. It could be the angle, but the gun looks a little tilted. I don't know if there's a way to make it fit a little more straight.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

The spiked treads were a pain but a must because, once you put the side tracked sections on it looked too clean and “space mariney”.
The gun is slightly tilted down but I can dremmel the back a bit more to improve the angle, I might even magnetise it. It’s a very snug fit right now. Thanks for the feedback

Not the worlds best painter and it’s not completely finished yet but you get the idea.
Alongside a regular Spartan for comparison.

Looks really cool! Great job

Edit: what's going on on that right "door"? Do you have another pic of that?

This one?

Basically it’s modified to be a firing platform with a panel from a Mek gun so I can put a Ork mini on there. You can see the concept in the second unpainted pic, I’m paining the Ork separately.

Ah, sorry, I missed the unpainted pics on top.

As I said: cool idea, excellent execution. Always a pleasure to see what Ork players come up with
