Cool. I still have a single copy of that comic from my childhood. In that one they had a M4 Sherman, not a M3 Stuart.

As the Haunted Tank fights from Africa to the European Theater of Operations, the crew goes through several M3 tanks. When their latest M3 is destroyed, the crew scavenge spare parts and wreckage from a "tank graveyard" to build themselves a new tank, known as the "Jigsaw Tank",[5] which serves them from that point. This tank has a modified Russian T-34 Hull, a Christie Suspension System and a Russian Y2 12-Cylinder diesel engine of 500 H.P. The nearly 15-foot track gives this rolling jigsaw puzzle excellent traction and it is capable of speeds up to 21 m.p.h.[6]

...

The Jigsaw Tank is eventually replaced by an M4 Sherman tank that sees them through to the end of the war. Despite a story that involves the ghost of General William T. Sherman being assigned to the tank once the crew switches to the Sherman, Commander Stuart's ghost continues to watch over the crew until war's end.

Haunted Tank's been a number of tanks. Cool to see more people that remember Haunted Tank.

Thanks for that, Platuan4th. I did not know that about the Haunted Tank. Would like to read the story of General Sherman showing up as the new ghostly guardian.

Mind, I somehow got the impression that General Stuart was guarding Jeb since he was a descendant, if not of the general directly, but of the family (like a grandnephew or cousin twice removed). Could very well be wrong about that.

Anyway, in the issue I have there are three Haunted Tank stories, in which the last has the M4 version flying THREE flags; the US flag, the confederate battle flag, and the Croix de Lorraine, as they escorted a Resistance member to the liberation of Paris. {There were more Resistance members at the start of the story, but redshirt effect came into play, and so only the recurring Resistance character made it to Paris.}

There was also a short-lived Ghost Tank reboot featuring an M1 Abrams crew in Iraq, where the spirit of Jeb Stuart was confused to discover that he was there to protect a black descendant.

that sounds cool - shame they didn't go for General Abrahms as the ghost though.
