Somewhere among the mass of material for Warhammer 40'000 1st edition there is a mishap table of sorts for anti-grav vehicles. When they take damage, one of the possible results sees the grav tech go haywire and send the vehicle skyhigh, disappearing from the battlefield.

Checking through the vehicle rules in the Rogue Trader rulebok around page 38, I cannot find this table, nor among Kid Kyoto's Retro Reviews .

Do anyone happen to know where to locate this grav vehicle damage table?

Thanks in advance.

My 1st guess would be in the Rogue Trader Vehicle Guide.

Rogue Trader Vehicle Guide or possibly some ancient WD issue as well

Let me check my Vehicle Manual. The book I don’t think I’ve ever actually sat down and read!

Page 24, Warhammer 40,000 Vehicle Manual.

Out of Control.

A skimmer that goes out of control ends it move at the point that control was lost. If it has not moved the minimum distance required for its speed, move it straight ahead until it has done so. In its next turn the skimmer will move out of control 2D6” in a random direction just like any other vehicle. However, you must make an additional roll to see if it the skimmer zooms up or down a level as it moves. Roll on this table to see what happens:

1. The skimmer swoops down and crashes into the ground
2-5 stays at the same altitude
6. The skimmer zooms straight up, stalls and then crashes to the ground 2D6” in a random direction

Right, guess I’m reading the rest of this tonight!

Thank you kindly!

Stalling, then crashing make better sense, though I'll incorporate my initial mesremembrance of it as well for a future peace.

There may be another table somewhere. God knows RT changed rules more often than a neckbeard changes their undies.

And here’s another…

3. Gravitic Motor Malfunction

The blast fracture the main gravitiic vacuum chamber sending the motor into an uncontrollable anti-gravitic reaction. The vehicle continues at the same speed and in the same direction, but rises by +10 height every turn until it is lost forever. If the vehicle is not a hover type, roll again on this chart

And because I can, here’s some lesser seen piccies from Rogue Trader. Evidence of Astartes using camo!

Even better! I'll have to dive into this tome again as well.

Thank you most kindly! And don't be shy to keep further finds coming.

Sounds like a fun rule. I still regard RT as unplayable (and double plus unplayable when you use the Vehicle Manual and other later add ons) but it was fun.

As for Mad Doc, Camouflage is the color of cowardice! I want my enemies to see me, to know I am not afraid to live and I am not afraid to die!

Unplayable, aye, but what a gold mine of background material! Agreed on camo, haha.

Here is the fruit borne by your efforts, Mad Doc.

On the camo-related subject, it's noted somewhere in Rogue Trader or similar era books that Marine armor is not painted, but "auto-reactive" or some similar phrase, where it can change color for appropriate uniform, camo or heraldry. One of the great bits of future-tech tidbits long since lost.
