I'll be shocked if this isn't a 10th ed announcement and if it is, it's pretty early for it.

That's fairly unlikely I think. It'll be the right window for the rest of the World Eaters, and maybe they might show off some of the supposed Marine launch coming after and the first of a Psychic Awakening type books.
I like the Emperor's Champion. Bit surprised it's not a model that more chapters can use, but that's way better than the stock model.

That's a great model!
Will be interested to see what they announce. Hoping it's finally the World Eaters...

There are 2 books to get out by close of winter, so likely Feb, new editions are historically June/July, so there isn't time for anything else.
In reality to temper my own expectations you're right it'll likely be guard & Angron as they clearly hadn't planned on showing either until now.

Back in the day you could use him in any chapter, but that ship has sailed. Chapter locked these days.
It would be nice to have a generally available primaris company champion, or chapter champion.

There are rumours of a new narrative campaign book/books that would introduce missile launcher Primaris and a melta Dread before 10th.
Given it seems like only marines will get new models, then it could be smaller in scope than PA. Three months is definitely enough time for that.

That's a pretty cool model, but I feel like it's an entirely different feel to the artwork. The model just looks so angry and over-the-top with the action compared to the artworks more calm professional vibe.

Absolutely awesome diorama. Now THAT's an Emperor's Champion! I feel rad for the templar, but bad for the Ork, curse you GW for making awesome duels between my two fav factions!

He needs to swap the orc base for a jump pack and a flight stand (as much as I hate those). Guy would rock out as a vanguard vet sarge/jump captain.

Depending on relative sizes, could be used with the FW Alpharius model quite nicely?

Him. I'm thinking at least 2. One to swap in for my crusade force Emperors champion and one to mount on a plinth and paint up as a statue for terrain.

Its a great looking piece, but I'm a bit sad they didn't go for a link to that iconic Crimson Fist scene from the Rogue Trader cover.

The last stand one? They already did that, in metal. I think I still have mine somewhere.

It’s Primaris, it has the Primaris backpack and apart from minor details the armour is identical to the normal Emperors Champion. It’s a Nob, so pretty big Ork.

It is clearly a mk X armour, look at the ankle nubs. Orks tend to get chunky

I think it's a Primaris wearing one of those modified Firstborn armours? Was that not the fluff line for the new EC model?

Hey, the ork is the only reason I'm getting this model!
Not that I can't pick up a nice dead ork from Helbrecht's base, but this one is much more dynamic. I appreciate that it's a fully body as well, since the Warhammer World/Store Birthday stormcast that came with dead orruks only had the upper torso.

Whilst I like that art, I think the model’s added dynamism adds something.
The art to me kind of looks like the Ork was already down, hence the more deliberate grip on the hilt. The model looks more ‘slice of action’, like the Ork has just lost its footing, and the EC is exploiting the opening?
Absolutely not calling either work of art bad. Just expressing a preference.
I think I can describe it better now.
The model is The Actual Legendary Deed. The artwork is the Stained Glass Rendition of The Legendary Deed.
I’ll tell you this for nowt. If GW don’t give away or sell copies of that art during this event? They want their bumps felt.
