I haven't played 40k at all in the last 4 editions, trying to get back into it with the new squats. I got the army box and wondering what's the best all-around equipment for the Hearthkyn warriors? Bolters or Blasters? What about medkits, etc? What's the best way to go for heavy weapons? Do I want to go for 10 man units, or 20?

I tend to build armies with lots of infantry, even though I always tell myself I won't next time... I usually try and get at least 1 of each unit type or vehicle, if anything just for collecting. I'll probably pick up the combat box when that comes out, or if they do any other kinds of discounted bundles, so I'll end up with at least 30 warriors, maybe more.

Friend of mine is running 1x20 with Ions and Magna/L7 and 2x10 with Bolters. From what I've read on in the book the other upgrades are definitely worth it.

I have yet to receive my box but I've seen a couple of videos and it seems that magnetizing them is quite easy (at least if you're used to magnetizing already).
I doubt I'll bother magnetizing the basic troops (I'll choose either bolters or ions and build multiple of 10s for both variants) but I plan on magnetizing the special weapons for sure.

Cool, at first I was planning to do 1 unit with bolters and 1 with ion guns, and then 1 was gonna have a missile launcher and the other with a magna rifle so I was on the right track.

I might see about magnets, I usually do that for vehicles but rarely for troops since they're smaller and can sometimes be a pain to do

●I'm equipping my initial squads with the ion blasters, & all the med kits, scanners, etc.
●I'm going to magnetize the missile launcher etc.
●When I get to the Sgt I'll decide then based on wich options I think look cooler for him. In the end I'll likely end up with each Sgt having a different combo just like in my other armies. Because A) variety, B) ID purposes.
