I initially made this to counter the "OP" Votann, and now unfortunately I'll never be able to get that challenge. Apologies if this is overkill but it was still fun to make.

Tau Sept - Spearhead Detachment

HQ

Longstrike
Warlord, SMS

Cadre Fireblade
Ohr'tu's Lantern, Shield Drone, Marker Drone

Troops

3x10 Strike Team Firewarriors
2 Marker Drones, Support Turret SMS

Heavy-Support

3x3 Broadside Battlesuits
Rail Guns, SMS, Advanced Targeting, 2 Marker Drines

3 Hammerhead Gunships
Rail Guns, SMS

The name of the game is indirect fire. Combine indirect fire with range and you force the enemy to come to you and fight on your terms. With the Votann this will not be easy, they are slow - I'm not sure if anyone played Ninja Turtles on NES but this is very much the Donatello effect (where you hide out of reach of the first boss and whittle him down while he's totally helpless to do anything. ) And with this much firepower any lone Bike or Deep Strike is going to be vaporized faster then an ice cube tossed into a bonfire. I took the Fireblade just for the Lantern - basically a half dozen Markerlights for free. Plenty of Gun Line, particularly Rail Guns to deal with Land Fortresses that could weather the SMS barrage. Still might be fun to play, but with the recent"nerfs" it might be too easy. Still a good army in general vs. just about any opponent.

As with your Votaan list, calling it Friendly/Casual is a bit of a pisstake.

I'll be honest just remove the friendly/casual tag and you'd be fine. This has the making of a fine tournament list.
