Not going for a super competitive build but more of a fun build.I’m an artillery officer in the Marine Corps so I am building a list I see myself in (I know it’s lame). I am focusing on artillery pieces in this army list. What do you guys think? It has been a very long time since I hand jammed one of these so if it’s messed up let me know. I’ve been out of the game for a minute.

Having a AA tank would make sense thematically.

Space Marines use Land Speeders as artillery spotters, and they have a special rule that helps with that. The ATVs might be better mechanically, but from a fluffy POV I’d swap them out.

No thunderfire cannons?

What’s up with the imperial space marine?

Your troops seem a little disjointed. What’s their job, are they equipped for it, and would other units do it better?

So yeah I’m gona swap one of the whirlwinds.

And I like the Imperial Space Marine. I think he’s kinda cool.

The Thinderfire Cannons are cool and I like the miniature but it just doesn’t do a lot IMO. I think the Rapiers are better because they can do exactly what the Thunderfire can do but also do 4 strength 8 shots as well.

As for the ATVs like I said I’m kinda modding the list off of a Marine artillery battery, we use utility vehicles for flank security. I am converting the ATVs to look more like utility vehicles. I have this big idea in my head how to mod them, I just need to convert them right now. I know it’s kinda lame but I’m really trying to mod this army after what I do, put a little of myself in the army.

Nothing lame about playing the army you want.

One perk of the TFC is that it comes with a techmarine. He has a host of gear, can heal the cannon, etc. And while the gun doesn’t have the big shells, it’s got better stats stratagem support, etc.

Flank security is important on the 40k game board as well. You want to have units screening your forces to prevent deep strikers from running up and tagging your tanks. You might want to look into getting at least one unit that can infiltrate to push the screen outside your deployment zone. I like infiltrators, as they have that nice 12” bubble.

Last I checked the ATVs are fine as a unit. I mostly suggest Speeders from a fluffy POV. I’d suggest a unit of scouts in a LSS, but can’t in good conscience recommend scouts these days.
